Do any of you guys put a bicycle inside your car? I need to buy one and I assume I can fit it in the back with the seats down but I wanted to see if anyone here has done it.

I've put a 26" bike with both back seats folded down. It took a bit to get it angled in, but it worked fine. I've also put another bike (can't remember if it was a 26" or 24") in with just the larger part of the back seat folded down and someone sitting in theother part of the back seat. Part of the bike had to sit in his lap, so I don't think he was comfortable, but it got the job done.

I have a 3.5' X 3.5' square base on casters I built, 5 gallon bucket full of concrete with a hole in it, 8' long mast, Yagi directional antenna and a bunch of tools in mine right now to test a system later. And I have a ton of room left....

I have fit a 5' bookshelf, desktop PC, laptop, 4 big trash bags of clothes, a pile of cookware, two floor lamps and a bunch of odds n ends in it before as well. So your bike will fit

Hell, my buddy has his mountain bike of an older Ford escort that is not a hatchback right now... if he can fit that, you can fit yours in the tC

Yes, I can fit 2 bikes with the back seats down. I take off the front wheels to maneuver them easier. What are you planning to buy--road or mountain? Don't buy a cheap bike if you plan to ride it for a long time. Look at bikes >1k at least. Do allot of research & test rides. G/L.

For over a year, I carried my bikes (one a hardtail 26" bike, the other a full on DH/FR 26" bike) inside my tC. All I had to do was take off the front wheel and lay the bikes fork-first into the back on top of a thick piece of flattened cardboard box. After many grueling rides, I'd get too tired and lazy to be careful, resulting in scuffed interior panels, and even a few minor nicks on the top of the rear bumper.

3 months ago, I finally sacked up and got a Yakima roof rack and tray:

Let's just say that it made things a TON easier. No more having to take off the front wheel. No more dirty, muddy interiors. AND, I get to flaunt my wicked expensive race bike around town. :naughty:

Anyone got pics of their tC with their bikes?

I had the sprocket rocket installed, two of them actually, and it worked perfect! I had a 26" Specialized Stumpjumper, and yes you get to show off your expensive bike around town. I would definitely get a bike rack, I carried my bike inside too, and you definitely get lazy after awhile, and it results in damaging your tint, and getting the back dirty. So definitely invest into a rack. Go on ebay or something.
