OK, I pulled one out and the bulb was fried. I guess after 16 years that's it I ordered the LED replacement bulbs.

 

Just an update, I used Amazon.com to replace DRL and map lights. I had to remove battery to get to DRL on that side. It takes a lot of pressure to twist them out. Be careful with the map lights, don't twist them as arrow indicates. IT will pop inside the assembly and you'll have to remove it like I did. I'm going to see what other lights I can replace with LEDs.

Also, the DRL's come on with first click of light switch and are on with low beams and high beams. Hope to check it out in the dark.

Yes, there are some videos, but the high, low beams and DRLs are the most difficult. I didn't know we had a trunk light for 16 years, hahahaha. Now it's LED.

Yep, like the DRL being out after 16 years. I was wondering why it was so dark at night. LEDs crank. Even the DRLs are about 4x brighter than halogen. LED high beams are like aircraft landing lights.

 

Any photos of the light output?

 

Not sure how good these are at dusk, but it will give you an idea. The order is DRL, low, high, center map light and rear passenger lights. I didn't do trunk or plate lights, but you get the idea. Blows halogen out of the water.

 

Were DRLs ever an option on the first gen 2008 tc? If so, how can I upgrade?
