Where to start?

I have a 2007 tC and I'd like to make it more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and eventually, faster. My MAJOR drawback.. I have never modded anything, and I know next to nothing about cars.. sad for a guy my age but I leaned more towards electronics than vehicles... Now I have a great interest in both! I've been looking at a few different modifications like eyelids and minor things like that but I would like to be able to learn how to work/install things myself versus taking it to a shop and spending big bucks.

I know it's not a easy request but where should I start as far as mods go and where should I start to learn how to do my own work?

I've already tried looking at this stickied post

http://www.yoursciontc.com/forums/88-scion-tc-talk/50762-answers-many-tc-related-questions.html

But it didn't seem to have the Answers/Guide that the post mentions, so I was a bit confused there..

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

there are great guides here http://www.yoursciontc.com/forums/148-diy-do-yourself/

i havent got a chance to look at your car yet, but as far as the basic common mods besides turbo i would say

tint
lower
HIDs
rims
exhaust
cold air intake
short shifter - providing you have a manual

doesnt have to be in that order just some mods that are the most common and or bolt on. ( waiting for someone to say " i didnt know tint was a bolt on lol" )

thats just a list you shouldnt have trouble doing be yourself except tint of course. any other questions, feel free to ask we have plenty of knowledgeable people here. just try and re frame from posting something that has been answered a bazillion times. oh wait like threads like this :) lol jk

I appreciate the pointers! I need all the help I can get XD

My tC is automatic, wish it was manual but that'll come later!

hey man, i know how you feel. when i got my 13' i didnt know where to start. but thats what i did.

plastidip my rims, as its cheap and makes the car look mean. added red lugnuts and red mgp calipers.
8000k hids and leds in license plate, interior and dome lights.
tint 20%
and thats about it. most important thing is to have fun with what you are doing and do something thats not permanent as you can revert to stock whenever you can

Where should I look to plastidip my rims? What kind of expense would I be looking at? Anyone know how I can get in touch with Blue Bat for the vinyl eyelids? I heard they were a good addition as well!
