Well seems i may be the first performance oriented vote. I plane on the simple bolt ons. I have spent way too much time in my past dealing with motor swaps and internal motor work. I am done with that. Simple bolt ons. All though none of that is readily available yet so at present i am working on a retro HID kit. Which it would seem that one of our newest members SilverX is also planning on doing. <----thinks to self, Maybe i should pm him and collaborate...
Ha! Your onto me! But not yet mate, I still gotta get a tC (which should be in a couple of months).

I had to vote for exterior since I'll likely do the HID's first. Anyone know the bulbsize on the tC's?
personally, I went with performance, i think thats cuz i'm new to this side of the moon. Anybody have any suggestions for how i can hook this baby up without sacrificing the powertrain longevity and reliability? Lemme know what you guys think.
damn, i can only check one box at a time. ive got stuff on order, a new knob, a set of pedals, door sills, strut tie bar, shocks and springs. and an eclipse head unit goes in right after the tint this weekend. still gotta figure out the rest of the system. then i think pop's garage in so-cal can fabricate me a front x-brace and a rear tie bar. then an exhaust. supercharger when it hits, supra fuel pump if needed. short shift kit, clutch. my wife hates me.

impossible.

the flame that burns twice as bright burns only half as long...

that may be exaggerating in the world of sport tuning, but to a degree, it is accurate. anything you do to your car that improves the performance is going to put more strain on the engine. the key to achieving maximum reliability is to keep your mods minimal where you can, and to make sure you use the right products for the application. know the engine you are invading, and what its limitations are. and the transmission. the tC wasnt made to handle 900 pounds of torque being dropped on it. and driving style. if you dont need to be running at 4800rpm generating 210 pounds of torque, dont. (ie : dont blow in a NOS shot just to impress the girl in the miata). the less you beat it up, the more beat ups it will take.
then again, its a toyota. i am on a mission to try to blow it up. damn things are nearly indestructible.

Thanks for the tip, inevitablegod.

Can you give me some pointers on this car, b/c I know next to nothign about modding
this is the first car that I actually own and will be paying myself for, and I want to make it last as long as possible (poor college student, sad violin music playing in background).

What are some perfomance mods that won't hurt the car long term? What parts manufacturers would you recommend?

This will be my commuter car, and I like my rice on the plate, not in my car. So i'm looking for minimal mods to make it just a bit quicker, sportier, more fun to drive than it already will be.

Where can i find more info on the engine in the TC, and what can be done to it without sacrificing the car?

Also,

i've been thinking about the cold air induction system. From AEM, is the one offered for the scion the V2 version, or the older version? Also, would adding the cai and the TRD exhaust system harm the car in any way?

Your wife hates you? I hate you.
j/k sounds awesome.
What brands are you going with? I would assune TRD. I am placing my order for my sway bar and springs next week. The windows get tinted this saturday as well. Most deffenitly a short throw shifter when it becomes available. After that will be the Strut tower brace once an aftermarket become easily available and then the exhaust. I will do struts once i have a few more miles on the stockers. I also have the carbon fiber b-pillar on the way. Keep us up to date when you hear of more parts becoming available.

I'm interested in the Xenon HID too. This is the first car I've ever purchased myself. Just finished the paper work and put down my deposit today! Wooho!! I'm psyched.

I heard that xenon lamps get ripped off a lot though. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Also, where does one go, in general, to get all these TRD enchancements installed?

I'm a total newb to this stuff. Thanks.

TRD products can be installed by the dealer. Most of the stuff TRD offers at this moment for the tC can be installed yourself if you have even the slightest inkling of mechanical prowess though. CONGRATS! on the new purchase, and please let us know if you come across any tC related HID info.

i am currently woking on an HID conversion. Its a PITA so i think i have given up. Making a 9006 adaptor to fit a D2S bulb is not fun. Any way sorry for the OT. Congrats on the ride and welcome.

BTW here is my post on HIDForum. see if this helps.(pics)

The wait for aftermarket projector begins. But at least it allows you to look at other moddable stuff to do.
