What are you drying your car with? Microfiber towels? I get water spots if I don't dry the car quick enough because the sun dries up all the water.

Water Spots..?
I have what look like really big water spots all over the hood of my car, including some parts of the body, and my spoiler (more prominent on flat surfaces). I gave my car a bath using Armor All car wash concentrate, and the spots didn't come out. Now, I think it COULD be that the acid rain (that's my guess) ate right through the wax or clear coat that came from the factory. Should I buy some good wax and try to buff these spots out? I've only had the car about a month. I tried taking a picture of one of these spots, but my camera can't focus that close

I usually manage to remove water spots with wax - pretty much any kind. sometimes it takes several applications, though.
yeha i had the same trouble, and i think it was becasue when i washed my car the hood was still warm, my solution was to wait a while after driving and park in teh garage or shade about an hour prior to washing, then i just made sure i dried the hood first....since then. no spots....
and after two applications of wax, my spots went away...

Try vinegar. If it's only a superficial hard water deposit, it should come off. Next step,, try a cleaner wax.
K, I'm going to try and wax it sometime tomorrow and let you guys know what happens. Otherwise I'm taking it to toyota and using my "paint protection". :/
You know out of all the cars I've owned the tC is the most proned to water spots. Even on the glass roof.
Keep a good coat of wax on it and dry it off quickly to prevent them. Polishing should get them out.

Sacramento water will spot anything. The sad thing is, once spotted, the paint is ruined. I've tried all kinds of things to buff it out, but I've been told by the pros that the water here etches the paint all the way to the primer. You can buff it and it will look better, but hardcore body guys can see water spots from 20 feet with no problem at all, even after they've been buffed.
I have heard that vinegar can remove water stains from glass.

i used the vinegar on water spots from our hard arsed water here in sac, totally works. CLR also works on windows as well, or lime-away. its mineral deposits on the paint or clear,and most of the time this will take it off. wax doesnt remove, it simply fills in the gaps and imperfections to make it seem as though theyre gone. after the wax is worn away or removed the spots will return

nope, unless u dont exhibit care. vinegar will strip your wax, but u either dillute it with water or use it straight and rinse immediately. CLR on the other hand is a very harmful product that requires a good touch and water hose handy. i use gloves when applying either. make sure when u apply clr or lime away it is not to painted surfaces, that's for windows and NONPAINTED PARTS.

clay bar... the single best tool in the world for paint...
the clay bar is godly. just dont use too much spray lubricant for it and give it a little elbow grease. works like a charm even in the hardest water in america.... SACRAMENTO!!!

haha one post works fine, and clay bay wont always do the trick. sometimes it can do the job, but occassionally the mineral deposits left behind arent phased
