I can sympathize to a some what lesser extent. I got the same song and dance about "preferencing" the vehicle (a 5 speed FM, btw) for as long as 45 days. I couldn't wait that long, as I had already sold my old honda.
I pushed on and decided to locate one on my own ,even though they told me no other dealers had what I wanted. Then I found one, not 20 minutes away a day later. I called them on it and they said, "it must have just shown up...but that dealer won't trade with us."
To make an already to long story short, I gave them a big FU and got a ride the 17 miles and purchased the one I found .... a brilliant 5 speed FM w/ side airbags.
