Exactly four weeks ago today I placed an order a 5spd FM tC, completely stock except for the Bazooka sub. I still hadn't heard anything from my salesman about when my car was coming in, so I called today to find out if he knew anything. He said they weren't having any luck allocating my car, but that he'd probably know early next week whether or not it would be coming in soon. I was disheartened.
I called a little while later just to see what they might have there on the lot, if anything, and was told that they had a 5 spd FM that was completely stock -- except for having side airbags. I decided to go ahead and get that car, so I'll be picking it up early next week.
As for the "waiting for nothing" portion of my story -- it turns out that the car I'm buying is the exact same car I test drove a month ago. Apparently it got parked across the street at the dealer's collision center for some reason and none of the sales people knew about it, so they hadn't tried to sell it. So, basically I've waited around for a month to get a car that I could have had the whole time.
I'd probably be a little upset if A) it wasn't so funny, and B) I wasn't so excited about finally getting my new car.
