I waited 3 1/2 weeks for my FM manual tranny. I coulda had an AP 2 weeks sooner, but I took a pass on that. AP is not for me.

I like the suggestion of taking up a new hobby while I wait (and wait and wait and....). It seems though, that my new hobby is browsing the tc forums - my boyfriend says that i am obsessed! Thats ok - getting back at him for his obsession a few months ago while he waited months for his mini cooper! Its been 20 days now. Maybe I will call and harrass the dealer. Does anybody know if there's a certain day of the month that they get their dealer allocation lists? Oh how I wish he'd call!

So as I said I called yesterday and got some bad news.

My car hasnt even been built!!! The dealer said it had a build date of May 8 but that it is only tentative. So he said it would be another 4 1/2 weeks I would be waiting.

I'm kinda jealous that you are being kept informed though. I called my dealer yesterday and he hasnt called me back He's not told me anything about "build dates", etc. He just keeps saying "Dont worry - I'll take care of it sweetheart" and rushing me off the phone! Aargh

You shouldnt wait for him to call back, they tend to get very busy and forget stuff. My dealer said the same thing but I needed to know what was going on so I just called back. It took a few calls (out to lunch) but I finally got a hold of him.

I dont know if this will help but my dealer informed me that they get updates on where in the process the cars are in the beginning of the month and 2 updates during the month. I dont know if your dealer does it the same.

I went to check out the scion tc on a saturday ... I called to make appoinment on wed . the dealer called me back an hour later and said they had the one i want at another dealership . I made a downpayment ,and picked it up on saturday . that was because it was the only time i could . I could have had it on friday!!

total of 3 days from the downpayment. I was very happy .

well, i've been waiting like a week or two for mine... but it's more because i've been moving funds around/waiting for a time my dad can go with me... because the dealer where the car is is an hour away... so i need to get there somehow, heh.

i got pretty lucky though... it's the only IIP 5-speed in the state of Michigan... so had they not had it, i'd be waiting a hella long time for it...

the dealer has already installed the options... just need to pick it up... which i was HOPING to do tomorrow, but i can't get up there in time... so it looks like friday (argh...)... oh well, it's mine and i'll have it this week at any rate... sorry to rant?

And I'm still waiting, passed by the dealer today and saw a red one which looks sweet from afar. I think I'll just wait for my SW one. Day 40.

Day 35 for me. My dealer called me to offer me a SW, w/ SAB but automatic. SW is my second choice, but I really want a manual. He is unable to tell me anything about when mine might come in.

The red one does look sweet.

So here I am now day 45 and still waiting. Its been 2 weeks since the last time I talked to the dealer when he told me it would be another 4 1/2 weeks. I passed by the dealer this morning and saw 2 rs 1.0 in the lot, also saw 2 SSM and I think its was Flint Mica. They also have a Yellow xB on the lot. That thing sure stands out in the lot! I'm patiently waiting on news of my car.

I just realized I ended the initial six week wait on Friday. I've got to keep reminding myself the wait will be worth it, the wait will be worth it.

No, what you need to do is to get on the dealer's case and make them understand that you might decide to drive couple hundred miles somewhere and buy a car somewhere else. 45 days is crazy...

I do agree that 45 days of waiting is crazy. But the thing is I wont drive a couple of hundred miles for a car, waist of time and money just for a car. But what I am considering is going for a mazda 3 or a cobalt instead.

I really like the tC and have become such a fan even though I dont have one yet. I'm hoping to be able to hold out a few more weeks for it, cuz my current car works fine so I dont have a need for the car yet.

Look at the resale / trade-in numbers...
