I actually did not wait, but I kept calling dealers in North Georgia till I found the car I wanted. Took about 3 weeks, but I got the color/tranny/options(none) I wanted.
No, what you need to do is to get on the dealer's case and make them understand that you might decide to drive couple hundred miles somewhere and buy a car somewhere else. 45 days is crazy...
