from what i heard, its better to s/c an auto. both a turbo and a s/c will shorten the live of your engine but a s/c will be safer for an auto.
No, Marty - the engine is the sameOriginally posted by basilisk4@Aug 1 2005, 08:45 AM
What would make it "unsafe" to turbocharge an AT? Why would the engine deteriorate faster if the car has an AT than a MT?
Exactly. No difference in engine wear between auto and manual, at least to my knowledge, but transmission might be an issue. And an expensive one.Originally posted by basilisk4@Aug 1 2005, 09:03 AM
So, how would that affect the longevity of the engine? Wouldn't that indicate that the transmission would fail, rather than the engine?
Engine is fine; it will wear off the same way manual's engine would.Originally posted by basilisk4@Aug 1 2005, 06:18 AM
Well, that's why I was asking...earlier, someone said that it would shorten the life of the engine, and I wanted to know why. Anyone else have information on this?
