TRD Suspension

I am going to order my springs and rear sway bar next week. I have done this a lot on other cars but never a new car. Seeing that the springs only lower the car 1.25" is it necessary to swap the struts? I know the TRD struts would give better handleing but i didnt know if it would damage the stock ones or not.

Also once i get parts in i will try and take as many pics as i can of the installs.

If you want to take pics of the process & do a write-up to go along w/ it, I can add it to the Information section...

Hopefully soon, I can offer some sort of compensation for articles in the way of decals, or the like

stock struts will work ok for awhile but they will eventually wear out.
im just gonna wait for HKS, Tanabe, Tein, or even Bilstien to make some coilovers.
I do like the adjustability of the coilovers.
I just found this great review about the TRD springs. Enuff so, that i am ordering them and the rear sway bar tomorrow.

TRD Springs @ Scionlife

i would have put up the pics from the forum but i have no image hosting at the moment.

On the second page it has pics. kind of a long thread.
Ordered this morning. should be in next week sometime. 293.96 shipped + tax. For the springs AND the TRD sway bar.
honestly, the springs and shocks are designed to be put together. the length of your shock and its overall travel is usually the concern with swapping springs to lower your car. here, the drop is minimal, so yes, you can run the stock shocks. of course, it wont handle quite as well as it would if you do both.
i am ordering mine next week, springs, shocks, sway bar. have a strut tower brace on order already.
pics will be great! stock strus will work fine with that drop.

Yes, I would hold out for Ground Control + Koni yellows set up or Tein.

Hopefully they change their mind.

DOH! well, I guess I'll just have to pester the guys at HKS to get to work!

ahaha If ANYTHING develops from them I'll write a review and post it up here
Would it be worthwhile to only get the lowering springs?
well I suppose that considering the HUGE price gap from springs and coilovers I suppose that it would be worthwhile to just get the springs.

But... Coilovers can make the car sit just right.
What do the coilovers do in comparison to the springs? What kinda price gap are we talking about here?
coilovers, you can adjust the ride height and dampining of your car/tires. springs you can not
well the TRD springs go for about 130-200?

Coilovers go for approx 1200-1800 for a set of four.

and yes the adjustability is the key.
I wouldn't have any idea what to do with adjustibility, the springs shall be fine...
