The last few meets I, along with other people, have noticed that my car sits noticeably lower than other tCs on TRD springs, including other tCs with the lip kit.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be? Any chance it has to do with me driving daily into the deteriorated streets of New York City?

It's beginning to be of concern to me; I am worried that if this is over time that my car will be sitting much too low within just a matter of months. I picked the TRD springs specifically because they were only 1.25" drop; if I knew I'd end up with a 1.5-1.75" drop, I'd have probably considered something else. I'm sort of ticked that I didn't measure my wheel gap before putting these things in and right after installation (before settling).

EDIT: PS the other cars we compared against were also supposedly settled.

Ed, the last couple of weeks Ive noticed that my car has settled quite a bit too. Im not sure if its my eyes but it looks like the rear has settled a bit more. I was talking about it with someone at the last meet. The drop is definetly more than 1.2inches. I wonder how much this effects the alignment.
Thanks, pal. I was hoping I'm not the only one. At this point it is more like 1.5-1.75" drop than 1.25"!!!

Perhaps using the TRD shocks with the springs results in a lower drop??
I have stock shocks/struts with my TRD springs.

Did you get an alignment after the springs were installed?
Definitely. Tires are wearing perfectly even, too, as proof.

How much was the alignment? >$50?
The dealer I did it at always does an alignment whenever suspension components are changed, no separate charge (they simply ripped me a new one on labor to do the spring install itself).

Im wondering with all the settling, if I need an another alignment. Is another .3 inches of settling enough to change it?
I've been driving around this low for a while now and as I said, tires are wearing evenly, so I think it's okay.

I did a tire rotation other day and took a good look at the front and rear tires in the process so I know. We did this right after installing the rear brakes and bleeding all four lines. I checked the wear on fronts and rears (even on each end, but fronts way more worn than rear of course), did rotation, redid air pressure.

Do any of you guys got the Ground FX with TRD springs. Just curious how your ground clearance is. And what size rims you have (if you changed them). Thanks!
Yeah, pal; I do. As I said elsewhere, my ground clearance has been fine enough for me to own the car and drive daily in New York City without excessive trouble; I just need to be a little bit more careful to watch out for steep ramps, but I've only so far scraped once. My wheels are stock size, but 10mm less offset with stock size tires.

Dam!!!  hope the drop isn't that bad my TRD shocks / springs are coming in next week and i have the lip kit.  i also live in the city the potholes are rediclous i can't have my car scraping against the floor!!!
I don't think you will have any trouble. Yes its a little lower, but Ive never had any problems. You just have to watch the speed bumps and very steep ramps as Ed said above. Obviously a HUGE pothole would be an issue too. [/b]
Yep, just the same stuff you should be looking out for regardless of lowering or not--"this ain't no Jeep trail rated vee-hick-ull".

What about your factory warranty is it good with this set?? I thought that dealer should void your warranty because with the lowering springs your struts will wear out sooner???

Can I instal it my self?? [/b]
Good luck; it's not impossible, but it can be terribly difficult without proper preparation and tooling, as well as help from a friend. Best to have your own garage to leave the car/job incomplete overnight in case you hit a hiccup.

Struts are a, "normal wear and tear," item; they wouldn't replace them for free under normal conditions anyway, the only difference is they'd run you longer before you had to pay for new ones.

For how long do you have your TRD springs??
I think since around July? The damn springs are so low now it's beginning to annoy me. My shocks/struts seem to be holding up though; no bouncy-bouncy here!

What do you mean by "annoying"??
I'm getting some extremely occasional rubbing with my +35 offset 17x7 wheels & stock size tires, because the car sits so low, the springs are soft enough to remain bearable, the shocks don't dampen the bound sufficiently and NYC's roads are asphalt and concrete hell (blame the trucks and salt).

Oh; no, I still have somewhere around a 3/8" of gap between the top of the tire and the edge of the fender.

so ed, how much did it cost u to install the springs at the dealer?
My dealer killed me on that; I'm contemplating never going back (~$900 to install the front brakes incorrectly and the springs).

have they lowered enough for rubbing or scraping on driveways or anything?
I'm fairly careful about this in general, lowered or not, and so far I've only been in two situations where my car was scraping a tiny bit in the center when cresting steep rises/ramps. It's not terrible, to be honest.

No, he doesn't scrape.
Correct.

I've only scraped in two places and both of them involve extremely steep and tall driveways.

Hmm...Unlike NYC, Atlanta actually has hills, and I don't scrape.
Where I live is pure hills (Scarsdale/Southern Westchester).
