TRD Exhaust...

I'm getting my 06 Scion this week I think. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and they said it would get here in three weeks. After looking at a lot of pictures I really like how the TRD Exhaust looks. I was just wondering if it was worth that much money to get it and if it added much except for looks. Does it add more HP? Does it make it sound a lot nicer?

I love my TRD exhaust...not as loud as my jetta used to be...and it looks good too! If you have the money....get it!!!
Do a search.
Very easy to install yourself, did mine this morning in under half hour, without jacking up the car.

The TRD Exhaust looks really good and the sound is great. One drawback is the cost of shipping because it's oversized. The HPS increase is about 2-3. The Borla we have is not as pretty, but is much cheaper to ship and gets 5-6 HP. Just a thought.

Maybe I should just start making topics we have already talked about just so I can get flamed by Jake. :p
Go with Ken's Borla. It's a good deal and you get a drop-in filter with it. Is it still true, Ken?
It is still true. It's a TRD style race filter that doesn't have to be replaced and it comes with it at no extra charge. It's the best overall deal, just not as pretty as the TRD.

it also sound good,i have dc 421 headers to go with it, it will save you some cash if you dont buy it from them, if you wanted one just order it and install it yourself

Hey yall, I know this thread is about 20 days old...
But this TRD Exhaust thread talks a little about Installation....

This is supposed to be easy to install right? I am a DIY'er that is about to leave his Turbo Civic. Is this a bolton, do you have to weld it anywhere, is it just hung by rubber hangers??

Maybe even throw me a few tips!

Thanks yall,
jeff S.
3 hangers, 2 bolts. Hangers are pretty soft, so I did not need to soap them or anything.

Tip: Righty tighty - lefty loosie.

yup yup, shouldnt be a prob
i think you mis-calculated the amount of beers.
if you get it through toyota.. they over price it.. buy it on ebay or somewhere else and put it on yourself.. saves money~
Is the exhaust loud like a ricer(loud farting noise) or it sounds like what a good performance exhaust sounds like? Because Im interested in getting one but i hate getting a really loud one where the whole block can hear me.
it sounds more throaty and deep...

my friends both have srt4s and say that its a good add-on b/c of the sound

it doesnt even come close to sounding like a ricer while @ 6k in 4th gear
i did a search for exhaust weights but couldn't find anything. i see ken mentioning shipping costs on the TRD system so i thought i would post this question here? Why the hell is is so much more to ship? Does it weigh that much more than other axle back systems? Is there any weight saving over the factory muffler?
