I still don't know where to put the oil in. I see two bolts on top of the transmission that look like they could be the oil in, but they dont really look like one, and I dont trust my mechanic skills to find out.

are those the fill and drain plugs?

if that is the fill plug... it seems like it'd be hard to fill up... i guess i gotta buy one of those funnels with the flexible necks

thanks for the tip, Lance.

one more clarification.... it holds 2.9 quarts? i dunno if it's because of my LACK of mechanical skills... but with a fill plug that low... i dont see how it can hold that much oil... but i trust you guys... off to pep boys i go.

im just more concerned about not buying enough oil... it'd suck to not be able to drive my car while i wait for more oil to be delivered... i bought 3 qts thinking it would be between 2.6 and 2.9 qts from what i've read so far

would having the lower weight oil be bad if my driving habits were more city based?

i did it... it was easy but man oh man does it come out fast from the drain plug... i made a mess.... took almost the full 3 quarts i started getting some drips as i was filling

i drove it around the town... the shifting didn't feel any more better than before, but i'll be keeping track of my gas milage

so its been a little over a month since i changed my gear oil to MTL, and i've noticed that sometimes shifting sucks.... especially going into 2nd.... during normal driving shifting into second feels like your trying to shift into reverse while the car is still moving.... i haven't noticed the problem when im pushing the car... only when im shifting slowly it seems to be crappy...

any thoughts? should i add more oil? (i have a little less than half a quart left over.) should i take it in? or is this just something in my head, and im being paranoid?

nope... did it in my drive way and inclinded it even more by still having it on the jack... maybe i should finish off my MTL.... i read in the manual however that it only takes 2.6 quarts... and thats about how much i added untill it started dripping out as i was filling.

k, that's good to know...it only happens when i shift slowly, so i'll just have to shift it faster, and then i wont have to feel that little hesitation...

okay.. i got another question... call me paranoid, but the way i see it, its better to look stupid and ask questions to learn than to look smart and be quiet and be dumb.

I didn't lower my car when i added the MTL so that probably means that i added too much gear oil to my car.... is too much is bad? i remember reading a post about having too much motor oil.. i know that is bad... is the transmission the same way?
