so i pretty much have a stock tc with some lighting. i was testing out the durability of the cornering so i took a right turn at 38mph and overturned. im gonna get a TRD sway bar soon but i was wondering what kind of tires i should buy cuz THESE TIRES SUCK! they slip and skid like no other. i take turns at 20 and hear that skidding noise.....any suggestions on tires?

I would recommend Pirelli PNero Zero.
ok just so you know, there is a wheel/tire section so check it out. also avon techs or pirellis is the way to go-check out tirerack.com
The stock tires suck hard, but I don't know how you managed to make them squeal at 20.
First of all...Most if not all STOCK tires are dog poop. however, hold for one incident on the PA turnpike in the rain, I have had no problems with these tires. Never skidded off the road or lost traction, and plenty of fun to launch and powerslide around nicely paved corners. My buddy has Potenza's on his supra, and I saw him smoke a mustang in one of the nicest street races I ever seen. Are they top notch performance tires?? NO. Are they speed rated and decent enough for the average tc driver?? I think so. May no replace with OE rubber, but i'm not gonna trash them and go waste/spend money on Nittos or Pirellis
I feel silly having to repeat myself to a grown man, but here I go... My buddy has potenzas on his supra. and u know what lo bux...I've heard so much about your supra I almost don't like the cars (supras)anymore. This is a tc forum, yet every post you're talking about your supra. Well no offense, but my buddy's supra is better than yours. actually, I know about 3 supras that are better...
and i have a friend with a supra in san diego that puts out 900hp. and that means what? thats like saying my dad can beat up your dad. i am soooooo impressed with you it makes my head hurt.

besides, arent you the one who mentioned supra in this thread first?

Is yours '05?

I just picked up my '06 and it came with 4 Yokohama S32A. Yesterday I tried exiting a ramp at 35 mph and it was doing pretty good. I havn't heard it squeal just yet.

i have the pzero nero m&s, stock size.. 215/45-17 on my tC.. just have to tell you i've had to rotate them every 2000-2500 miles.. and i think i'll be lucky to get 20k out of them.. just letting you know what you're in for.. they are good tires, only downside they don't last that long..

I wish i could've gotten 30k out of them.. now i'm looking at the yokohama h4s.. maybe that'll last longer..
I have experienced the P zero nero's and yes it's a good tire. But I have found the kdw'2 to be a much better tire. Like Low I can take corners at about whatever speed I want. If you want a lot of mileage out of your tires you’re looking at the wrong kind of tires altogether. Tires that can stick also wear out sooner, just the way it is. But then again most of us here are driving enthusiasts and for us mileage isn't as important as performance.
My dad can beat up your dad.
I support more troops than you.
I have the Yoko stock tires and they suck more than any porn star. Breaking traction, I do that every day. I skidded into the curb a few weeks ago screwing up one of my rims and throwing the alignment way off. I was as a dead stop making a turn going slow.

So yeah don't trust those tires with your life.

[joke]Oh and my mom can beat up your dad haha beat that[/joke]

Blasts, foiled again!
Okay, in my first post I said my buddies supra had potenzas, not re92s, same rubber, diff tire.
While on the topic of bad tires.....when i bought my tC, it came with the Potenza Re92's or something or other......(the bad ones, or so i hear)....at around the 10K mile mark....withina 2 week period, i had 3 tires blow out on me. All 3 happened in a straight line at highway (65-70mph) speeds. Finally went out and bought a set of 4 Pirelli PZero Nero's and those are great. When i tried contacted the dealership about the tires, they were complete *insert profanity here*. Is there something i can do to at least make them cover some of the cost of the tires....because i think buying four new tires at 10K miles is a bit too soon.....any words of wisdom?? Thanks guys
wow, three tires at the same time? were there nails all over the road?

I think the stock tires suck, over a puddle I almost hydroplaned. I really like the Pirelli PNero Zero's but parents won't let me swap them until the stock ones get worn out

NOPE.....after looking at the tire, i saw that one each one of them, the sidewall failed.....basically a small tear in the sidewall of the tire
