Tinting and LEDs

I snapped some shots of the tinting my girlfriend got for me yesterday. There's a couple of pics that I took a while ago when I got my LEDs put on. The flash didn't work very well, so they didn't turn out too well.

Isn't yours the million color ones? Mines just 7 colors. But that's plenty for me. ha!

17%. I thought that 30% or 35% was the legal limit in Indiana, but they said at the auto shop that 17% was.

Heh. Yeah. I kind of like it. The guy who installed it said that there was a piece under the front bumper that would block the light from getting to the ground. He said that he could cut it out if I wanted, but I like the way it looks. Especially if you look at it at the right angle, the grill kind of breaks up the colors. Eventhough I have it set to blue in the picture, you can kind of see some of the red and green lights.

Mine's the same way. I meant the placement of the front light bar, Lucid. No worries. Plagary is the best form of flattery

thats pretty dark, but im sure on a sunny day it wont look as dark.. people with tints know that on cloudy days your tinting looks like 10X darker.. I love that and hate that (cloudy day tints) because you can either get pulled over real easy, or ride with no one seeing you..

indiana has that on the front? daaamn.. thats nice, illinois wants NONE on the front windows, so im just going to do 20% all around, its not too dark on sunny days, but really dark on coudy days.. hehehe, ill see how many tickets I get, especially with, no front license plate, tinting and too loud of music.. hillbillies in illinois

Unfortunately, I think you were right.

Hrm... I doubt I'll get pulled over for it around here. I've seen several cars around that look just as dark, if not darker. I've even seen people with red and blue LEDs/neons on the bottom of the car, and I know those are looked down upon. I've even seen one car with red neons on the bottom that were low enough to actually see the lights themselves, and that's a BIG no-no.

That looks hot. My friend in FL had 5% on his Focus ZX3. Talk about dark! The thing with it though, you could see perfectly from the inside out, but couldnt see sh1t from the outside in.
5%? He hasn't gotten any tickets? That's basically limo tint.
he wont get pulled over and ticketed just for tint alone (unless the cop is a dick and really pissed off or bored or something...)... what he needs to watch is speeding cause as soon as he gets pulled over for speeding or something else, the cop will most likely also cite him for tint (and if the cops a super dick hell hand your friend a razor blade and tell him to take the tint off right there)...
hahahaha oh man,

cops are dicks.

this is true.. I never got pulled over JUST for tints..

only when I got pulled over for speeding did I get questioned, but what I did, was just rolled down my front two windows when he was coming around, this way he cant notice them.. hehehe, its a trick.. or just roll down your front two windows everytime you see a cop if your afraid..

I will be getting 20% tint all around. Im not too afraid.

Man... If that happened to me, I don't know what I would do. I definitely wouldn't take them off with a razor blade. I'd probably try to reason with the cop and say that I'd just drive with my windows down till I could take it to the shop to get professionally removed. If that didn't work, I'd threaten to call my lawyer... I don't really have a lawyer, but I have several friends in law school... They probably wouldn't be able to do anything for me, but I bet it would at least scare the cop enough into letting me off. hehe.
i heard about the razor blade thing.. never knew anyone who actually had that happen. but i've also heard that if the windows a rolled down when the cop gets there that they cannot force you to roll the window back up.
can anyone shed any light on this? is this true?

it's 28% on the front windows and 15% on the rear.

Actually I've addressed this topic to a friend of mine who's LAPD (granted it's not FL). She told me that once you are on a public road, anything pretty much goes. They do have the authorization to inspect anything that's on the outside of the vehicle including rolled down windows if they truly wanted to bust you. If you decide you want to pull a fast one on Johnny Law, she says that they'd have no problem doing what they have to do "within the rule book" to win their argument.

I had brought this up to her when I ran into the situation in my suburban. A cop had asked me to roll up my windows so he could check them, honk my horn, and turn on my lights. I asked him if he wouldn't mind inspecting my oil and air filter while he was at it (my smarta** mood at it's finest). At any rate, my friend is knowledgable and very fair when it comes to her job so I usually take her word to the bank.
