Hello, I'm looking at possibly buying a 2006 TC model with 80,000 miles with 5 speed manual trans

I've read about these cars having some issues.

I'd like to hear your unbiased input please.
Thanks.

I would say that it honestly depends. I have had some pretty bad luck with mine but I had a lot more miles. It really just depends on the people who owned it before you and how well they took care of the car. Be pretty critical when it comes to the transmission and clutch because if the car is driving funny it might be something big.

Oil burners. Piston ring looseness & fast wear. Carry 2 quarts in the trunk/hatch area or buy a gallon of oil & seatbelt it in the back seat.

If all of sudden the AC "cold" doesn't work. Check the radiator fan motor. It's connected like Xmas tree lights/series circuit. Took me almost a week to find it was the radiator fan motor. Even after paying the local garage $90 for a leak test & small recharge.

It was the one of the fan motor out. I have the double/dual fan radiators.

I have one with 170,000 miles on it. Essentially trouble-free with regular maintenance. Had to replace the alternator at about 100k. Currently replacing the front catalytic converter and hoping that's enough to get it smogged. (There's a second converter, but my mechanic says its condition won't make any difference. Hope he's right.)
