Thinking of buying a tC

I want to buy a reliable fun car that i can make pretty fast without spending an arm and a leg. I've heard good things about the tC but do you guys think this is a good car to start off with and build? Should i get a tC1 or tC2?

I've heard that it's easier to find parts to build up a tc1, but comparatively shit reliability to the Tc2 (easily worn piston rings leads to excessive oil consumption, manual transmissions had issues in both models) and Tc2 requires forged internals if you plan on boosting over 300hp, automatic transmission can handle 350+ before needing an upgrade, and requires piggyback ECU and some tuning knowledge to tune, aftermarket parts are not prominent anymore (hopefully they will be in the near future as interest in Tc's goes up again) and everyone is going to tell you it would have been cheaper to just buy something more powerful, but to hell with'em I've never had a car I loved more than the Tc2, with a tune for efficiency on 91 octane on stock internals I put down 210hp and 0-60 in 6.2 seconds and could manage 700km on a full tank

So, which TC project did you end up with?

Exactly. Hands down, the easiest, most fun car I have ever driven since my 86 corolla gt-s, Best to work on too with spark plugs accessibility a+
