those wheels look great! i like the big lip on them. as for lowering, i say no. i think the tC looks low enough stock. and after seeing pics of your car, it looks excellent the way it is. plus, lots of people disagree, but the ride quality does get rougher. i've had trd springs before. save the money and buy other upgrades. that's my advice. but do whatever you want and whatever makes you happy and love the car more. it's your creation.

Springs!!! Springs!!
Trust me, you're gonna wet yourself when you see them on. Nice wheels dude...that's hella lip! And you got the fog lights too! I'm jealous

Definitely gonna have to make a trip up to the city soon to check it out. Hopefully I'll get my little scratch fixed up before then so they'll be ready for some picture-takin!

I'll have to make sure I'm wearing my Depends then. Probably week n' a half away from having the springs on. I think I'll like 'em too...that gap was just too....noticeable to me when I switched them out.

Amazing thing was...my dad liked the wheels. LoL...surprised me.
Yes definately get the springs.... maybe one of these days I can convince my g/f to allow me to put the TRD springs on the car.
^^^ Do it when she's not looking

See, that is one of the reasons I don't have a "real" girlfriend. I don't want to be told what I can and cannot do - that's just crazy. It's your car, your money, why would she "allow" you to do stuff? Like George Carlin said - "pussification of American male". Scary stuff.

Edit: I just was informed that the tC might be actually your girlfriend's. Then I sound kinda stupid. But the statement stands in general for the cases where it really applies

Nice car, I say get the springs, but also get aftermarket shocks/struts too. Don't put the springs on stock struts.. Ride will be horrible.
I've been in a car with the TRD springs and factory shocks and struts (zoltiz's), and the ride is great...I didn't even notice a difference from stock.
Congrats on tC v2.0!

I love the wheels! My wife and I are currently searching for just the right set of 18's for her tC. Please share the size (18x?, staggered?) and offset of those awesome TSW wheels (they would look great on her silver streak tC!!!).

Our tC has the TRD springs on the stock shocks. The ride comfort vs. stock is hardly noticeable. As I said in my previous TRD spring review, the ride is superior to stock with the improved control and feel (connected to the road, no "float") from a lower center of gravity and increased spring rates. Obviously, my vote is to get the TRD springs ASAP and take that sweet ride out of "4WD mode".

Anyone who tells you that TRD shocks are necessary with the TRD springs...well...has read too much and driven too little. If you add the TRD shocks to the TRD springs, the ride quality will diminish (vs. TRD springs and stock shocks) due to higher valve / damping rates in exchange for a marginal improvement in handling. I only wish you lived closer so you could drive our tC and judge for yourself.

Stay safe and best of luck with your new tC.

Yes... the car is her's BUT only because my credit is so scary the people at the bank run when they see me walking in the door like I'm Creditzilla... the credit demolishing monster.
Although I am responsible for helping her pay for half of the car payment.... Mine? No... it's ours but she has final say on accessories.... for now

Sorry for hijacking the post... I'm done now.

I got the springs installed with stock struts. Even if they don't last as long, it seems pointless to replace perfectly good struts before their time.

The ride for typical driving seems same as stock, cornering is much more precise and less roll. Seems to track more evenly around corners.

The larger wheel gap is gone and the tire seems to fit better into the wheel well. Overall, I would say it is the single best appearance mod out there. The handling is good too, but I dont get to push my car around corners much.
-double post-

One of the mods wanna just delete this post (not the one above) - thanks.

Springs are being shipped from Ken soon. LoL...depends on when he can come up for air and mail 'em to me. Other than that, it's a race to see if they'd get here before the holiday or after. I'm betting after. Which is fine, because then my strut bar will be here from DC sports. Yay.

Lex - the wheels are 18" TSW Thruxtons in hyper-black. Offset is the same.. 5x100's that the stocks use. I've avoided the shocks because I think with all the stuff I'm adding to it previously would make it jostle too much.
I'll let ya know how much difference I feel.
Well ok then dont get aftermarket struts lol.. So how low will the springs lower the car?
TRD site says 1 1/8 - 1 1/4...peole who've installed them say close to 1 3/4.
