Tc or Eclipse GST

Yea right, read my quote on the fourm four down on the gt-s. My buddy's gt-s is nice but it fells really heavy. He keeps up real close but he has yet to beat me. The numbers on the car are way overrated.

not overrated..ur buddy just doesnt know how to drive..there is no way u can beat a car with over 200lbs ft. torque with 200 hp..and of course torque doesnt matter like lance has pointed out haha but theres just no way..ur buddy must really suck at driving, its one thing to smash the gas and go fast..but its another when it comes to actually driving the car to its potential..i have yet to beat a gt-s or a gst, either way its not gonna happen in a stock tC..

The eclipse is nice but im tellin you it's overrated. Belive me if you race one it will be a near tie. I am always winning by a half car. Also that car sucks on the freeway I might add.

My brother used to have a GSX....the tC wouldnt' stand a chance against that thing.

i thought i heard something about mitsu's (the newer ones) not having the best gearboxes/shifters? is the eclipse heavier than the tc?

The newer V6 eclipse is a dog, like you said.

One of my co-workers has an auto V6 eclipse... Maybe the 5spd is better.

The last two cars on my list before I chose the tC was the tC and a used Eclipse GTS. They didn't seem as far apart as the specs would suggest. The GTS was probably a little faster, but the tC felt quicker... more responsive. Although Toyota quality, usable back seat, and flat cargo area made the decision.

they arent different cars engine wise..the only difference between the gs-t and the gsx are the drivetrains..the gsx is 4wheel drive..and i have experience because my buddy had a gs-t..and they arent overrated, seriouslly dude..i raced my friends with just a downpipe on his, everything else was stock and he smoked me..we switched cars and i smoked him..ur friend must just suck at driving..but just be forewarned that you wont always get these results against a gs-t..u prolee jus havent raced an experienced good driver..

Again im not talkin about the all wheel drive turbo gsx or the front wheel turbo gs-t. Thoughs are the mid 90's cars. Im talkin about the newest gen v6 model.

Earlier in the thread people were saying "GST"

I assumed they meant... GST....

and again im going to say but those are not overrated..those are awesome cars built on a very good platform..and like i sed in my previous posts, your buddy must not have been a very good driver because an equally "good" driver knows the limits of his car, knows when to shift, how to launch at the correct RPM..so u might wanna reconsider saying the eclipse is overrated..i love my tC to death, but i know its limits..and beating a new gen v6 gts eclipse is not tangible with the platform that its built on..WITH a good driver..
the tC may be able to take it off the line, but beating is out of the question until the SC comes out

The Eclipses seem to be kinda on the cheap side in terms of build quality, but that's to be expected since the Eclipse is a Mitsubishi... As far as being "overrated," though, I don't really know what that would mean in this context -- the faster Eclipse models are just that, fast. Numbers don't lie.

I drove his eclipse. It was an auto, so shifting had nothing to do with it. It just felt REALLY heavy.

Actions speek louder than words, And I know what Ive seen. If you have ever driven a new eclipse you would know the drivetrain sucks and the quality is a joke. And If you floor it on the freeway the engine just won't wake up.

Eclipse gs-t's are 2.0 i-4's turbod to make 210 bhp, while being around 3,000lbs. But when you're talking the eclipse gt, then you're talking about a chassis that is the same as many diamond star products and weighing well in excess of 3,000 lbs while having a slightly tweeked galant v-6 engine.

a new eclipse gt will still beat a tc with equal drivers
an earlier turbo model will def. beat and destroy it if its modded some
