Greetings, all! New member here, figured I'd throw out a post on my issue and see what brilliant ideas you all may have ;)

In short, looking to sell my 2013 TC w/ manual and 100k. However and unfortunately, transmission has a worsening issue (input shaft bearing...yay) that will likely soon need a rebuild. I was working toward selling the car previously, the tranny is just a major wrinkle in the plans. The cost estimates from any and all local shops willing to work on it are far beyond what is worth putting into the vehicle for me. I do not have the time, space, nor tools (lift), or for that matter patience to do the work myself. Rest of the vehicle is good to excellent condition (engine strong and still very clean on oil analysis), so doing a lot of different research for the best avenues to sell it netting best profit given the situation.

Any suggestions or thoughts welcome. Many thanks!

I just don’t understand how dropping a new tranny in a 13 isn’t worth it if the car is in good shape otherwise? My 08 is 230,000 miles deep and still runs strong…. I guess it’s really a question of how attached you are to the car

It's a fair question! Honestly before all the research I've done I would have thought the same. The reality is the parts and labor cost would be very nearly the same as the best case resale value (assuming a fully functional tranny) of the entire car. The vehicle has served very well but both lifestyle and needs have changed which is why I was originally looking to sell and put that capital in a different direction. The decision to try to sell as is as opposed to repairing then selling for basically no profit is more a financial one than anything else.
