Hey does the upgrade to the trd springs require the trd struts as well?

nope
So this car can be dropped on the trd springs with no other modifications whatsoever without damadge?
Oh btw, what's up all? my name is joe and I'm new to these forums. I have a Super White '05 tC with ground effects, 18" graphite rims, fog lights, carbon fiber b piller inlays, trd exhaust, obx shift knob, footwell neons and cupholder illumination

Numerous people on this forum have done just that with no ill effects that I've heard about...

By the way, welcome to the site!

nice, i hope to get the drop springs on soon, i think with the ground effects and 18s it should be looking real hot after a drop.

thanks

The springs make a great difference on their own. I highly recommend them.
sorry to hijack but...can the stock strutts be used w/ a bigger drop, say the tein s-techs?
Yes. However, no matter what, you need to plan on a new alignment when you lower the car. Either that, or plan on buying tires much sooner than you should have.
^^^ Indeed. Don't forget the alignment afterwards or if you are having a shop do it ask if they can just go ahead and do that after.
Yeah that'd be easiest to have the shop do it at the same time, I'm gonna get my underglow in first to keep the install price reasonable
ok just making sure that i'm reading all of this right

you can drop on s-techs w/ stock shocks, just need an alignment like w/ any other srping install

and the shocks & tires will wear out faster w/ the s-tech + stock shocks

thanks
The tires will wear out faster if you DON'T get the alignment. If you get the alignment, tire wear will be the same. It's hard to say what will happen to the shock/strut service life, it will depend on the spring rates of the lowering springs. Basically, if the spring rate is higher, then the shock will be working harder, so it will wear out sooner. If they are similar, it won't be as big an issue.
dont know the exact specs but i do KNOW that spring rate of the TRDs are higher than stock

yeah, dont be like me. gonna have to replace my yoko's this summer. cause i didnt get in for an alignment in time to stop them from feathering. now i have tire whine at 30 mph, and its noticeable. align it.
i just did my alignment tonight, my rear camber was 2.1 degrees on the right and 1.9 on the left, toe was off .3 degrees. just all outta whack. didnt think to print out the sheet and post it, my bad
Is there any signifigance in the look of the drop by getting or not getting the struts?
No. No difference in appearance.
Cool
