It's a visual aid for the driver. It reduces the amount of attention needed to determine when to shift. Light comes on, change gears. No need to look at the tach and take your eyes off the track, er, road.

Thank you, that is what I thought it was but wsn't 100%.
The tc's dont come with a shift light correct?????
