shift knob removal question

I'm sorry if it's already been answered before but I can't seem to find out how to loosen the stock one. Is it just screw on / off or do I have to take off the boot and unscrew some screws. Damn, I tried just twisting left and i still couldn't get it off.

Just twist. It doesn't even take that much effort.

just twist to the left? i tried hella hard.

/edit oh, and with the trd shift knob, do i just screw it back on the same way?

Mine has been loose since I got the car. Not too bad, but easy to remove and it will twist in my hand as I drive.

eat some wheaties man, lol.....on my last car i took a towel and put it over the knob and used a wrench over the towel and turned like my life depended on it, it came off.....maybe your knob wasnt threaded correctly.....
