Is it an MP3 cd?

Depends on how/where you get your files. If you rip em yourself from CD's I've never seen winamp or musicmatch jukebox fail to find and name the mp3's If you download them though thats when things get dicy. Any number of things can cause it to get confused and then you have to input the information manualy. After trying MANY p2p programs, websites, ftp sites, etc... I find the best place to download is suprnova.org they have the largest collection of torrents and one of the easiest to use and search databases. Of course you will need a BitTorrent client to download them though. The best part about suprnova.org is you can often download whole cd's at once and serious users post there, so you will always find high quality, correctly named and often album art included downloads.

Disclaimer: While I think the RIAA is a bunch of ass holes and the record industry is just too greedy in general, I don't advocate "stealing" their "Intelectual Property" If you like the album go out and support the artist by buying it. If ya don't then good for you, you saved $20 and didn't buy that crap.

thats what im talkin about....i dont listen to burned cd's to much. Low quality is a major issue with me. [/b]

Try 192Kbps and higher MP3s. http://www.allofmp3.com offers online encoding of the music they sell - up to 320Kbps - that's where there is no way you can tell MP3 from a CD-audio quality.

They are charging $.01/mb of downloaded music, which comes down to about a buck per album. They also claim that they are legit

Yah, I love that site Most of the songs have an option for encoding directly from the CD right when you order it, so you know you're not getting someone's weird rip with a crappy encoder.

I disagree about being able to tell a difference in quality. Depends on both you and your stereo. I will say I doubt you can tell a difference between the two (even at a rate of 160Kbs) on your stock stereo in your car. I mean... it's not exactly an audiophile's system... Methinks it's in your head. Or, you've just used crappy encoders before. [To thread starter.]

Also, the whole burned CDs thing anyway: why not just download and rip music into a lossless format like WMALossless? I buy CDs all the time from Amazon new and used, so I typically get them for under $5. When I get them I rip the songs off the CD that I want into lossless WMA and burn my CDs from that when I want to listen to something on my home stereo. I also rip them to 160Kbs MP3 files for my portable players.

Unless you're one of those that luckily likes all the songs on one of their CDs, you're really missing out with the whole "no burned CDs" thing. I also think you're missing out by not trying out the MP3 CD feature. It's nice to have a few albums on one CD.

Question: Do you ever listen to the radio?

Hey, we all have our own standards on speakers lol. You don't get real nice speakers on a car without paying an assload of money. Just how it is.

Yah, I'm not dissing the car by any means. I LOVE my car. I mean, hey I drive it every night just for kicks, and I wash it almost every other day lol. It's a sickness.

But, as you know, stock cars don't come with audiophile speakers. Personally, that doesn't bother me, because I don't see my car as a mobile stereo system. While I consider myself something of an audiophile, having great sound isn't high on my priority list for the car. Speed first. All other second.
