Scion Security - Thinking of ditching it

I am thinking about removing my scion security and going with a aftermarket alarm. Do you guys think the removal process would be all that bad? Alpman maybe you'd be able to shed a little light on this. The scion security just doesn't impress me. I have it turned up to like 9 and it just doesn't do a whole lot for me. I previously had a viper on my other car and I think it spoiled me with the alarms. Any input here would be great.

yea the scion alarm is very weak. any upgrade would be better. i just dont know how hard it wuld be. i would assume it shoudlnt be that difficult
Well I've read the install manual online and most everything is somewhat plug n play. There is I think one or two instances of soldering wires. I just think I'd be happier with an aftermarket alarm. The stock alarm is expensive and lots of people get it b/c they don't want to carry another key fob. However DEI makes keyless entry upgrade systems that just basically add the alarm components to the stock keyless entry. I know the Viper 330 and I think the Hornet 727 are the keyless entry upgrade alarms and you can use the buttons on your tc's key to arm and disarm the alarm. If anyone wants to take a look at these alarms check www.directed.com.
Anybody else care to give any opinions on if this would be too hard to try and take out for an upgrade? Just would like a little input if possible.
