Hey Everybody,

Just wanted to pass on the latest details on the next Scion event – and it’s a good one. If any of you checked out Scion Exposed Philly last year, you can vouch for the 400 Scion-only car show that filled the Comcast Spectacor center. And if you were there, you can talk about the giveaways, commemorative t-shirts, and prizes that were handed out. Expect the same and more when Scion Exposed visits NY/NJ for the first time at Giants Stadium – in East Rutherford, NJ.

And best of all, like last year – this is a FREE event and open to ALL. So, bring all your friends and family to Giants Stadium and join us for the ultimate Scion event of the summer.

The preliminary show schedule is as follows:

The preliminary Scion By You car show classes have been set up (*subject to change). The entry to the car show is FREE. There will be a separate parking area for Scion owners who don’t want to be a part of the car show judging.

Scion Exposed NY Car Show - biggest Scion show ever
More classes, bigger trophies!

The Car Show classes for this summer’s biggest Scion event – Scion Exposed NY - have been finalized. Based on last year’s turnout at Scion Exposed Philly, this year’s event at Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NY on July 23, 2005 is expected to be the biggest Scion-only car show ever. Scion owners will be able to enter their Scion xA, xB, or tC in nine different competition categories that feature two levels of modification classification – Mild for low to moderate levels of modification and Wild for more advanced vehicles.

In addition, a Best of Show winner will be selected in addition to three specialty awards – including Best Team/Club, People’s Choice, and a Distance Award.

Once again, up for grabs will be trophies (bigger and better than last year), cash, and prizes. Over thirty trophies will be awarded; first place, specialty award, and Best of Show winners will win $300 in addition to their impressive hardware. Second place competitors will receive Scion and sponsored swag in addition to their trophies.

Like last year, the Scion Exposed Car Show is FREE and open to ALL Scion owners. There is no pre-registration necessary, however we suggest you sign up for the car show at www.scionvip.com to help pre-event planning. Roll-in for car show competitors will begin at 9AM on the day of the event (Saturday, July 23) and judging will begin by Noon.

Scion owners who don’t want to compete in the Car Show will still be parked together in our Scion-only field (over 400 Scions last year!).

Best of all, everybody will be able to enjoy a full day of fun with activities to include – live concerts by three musical acts, a Scion and sponsor prize giveaway, a skate demo and autograph sessions by the Zoo York Skate Team, a Halo gaming tournament and other video gaming free play, RC races, vendor displays, and more!

Remember, this event is FREE and open to EVERYBODY (Scion owners and non-owners alike) – so please invite all your family and friends as well.

this is awesome! i should be driving my new tC early next week. i'm getting an '06 classic silver tC just in time for the show, and even better it's so close to home. i've read in other forums of clubs even showing up like 40/50 scion's deep. me and 2 of my friends are getting the tCs together so at least if we all go we'll be showing up 3 deep, haha. i drive an '89 camry deluxe, so you know i can't wait for my tC.

Zoo York Pro Skateboard Demo

The Zoo York pro skateboard team will make an appearance at Scion Exposed NY, July 23, 2005. Besides autograph sessions and Zoo York giveaways, the Zoo crew will be conducting several demos on a special street ramp course over the course of the day.The world renowned Zoo York pro skate team features pros from all over the country and will be crisscrossing the nation on their 2005 summer tour � but Scion Exposed NY attendees will get a special demo before anybody else.

Zoo York will also debut a Zoo York-themed Scion xB at Scion Exposed NY. In addition, the official event shirt will be a Zoo York-designed T-shirt and will be given to Scion owners and their friends while supplies last.

HALO Tournament
7-year old master Halo gamer Lil� Poison to be featured

Scion Exposed NY will feature two Halo gaming tournaments featuring cash and prize awards. Twelve gaming stations will be plumbed together for the two tournament sessions � set for 12:30 and 2: 30 � while twelve more gaming stations featuring GT4 and Need For Speed will be available for free play. In addition to the two tourneys, a beat Lil� Poison � a 7-year old Halo prodigy � challenge will be available for whoever thinks they can upstage the diminutive gaming master. The tourneys will be conducted by Major League Gaming, a national gaming organization that conducts tournaments across the country. MLG will also be providing some of the $1,000 worth of cash and prizes. Like the event, the tournaments will be free and open to all.

Matzu-MTP

World renowned street-inspired artist Matzu-MTP (Tomo Matsuyama) will paint live at Scion Exposed NY. Graf-artists and other contemporary artists have admired Matzu-MTP�s work across the country and around the world, and now Scion Exposed NY attendees will be able see Matzu-MTP work live on a special piece at the event.

Matzu-MTP interprets the contemporary street art movement by applying Japanese techniques and sensibility to his large-scale paintings through brush strokes and symbols, as well as color palette and the use of negative space. He is alone in his ability to explore the edges of cultural identity. His works flirt with the boundary between traditional Japanese art and urban American street influences. He pursues that inspiration with tremendous exuberance and a fresh design language that�s filled with human emotion. Matzu-MTP has held solo exhibitions at Levi�s SoHo Gallery, The Reed Space and the Hankyu Department Store in Osaka, Japan. He has also shown in group exhibitions at the Asian American Arts Centre (NYC), Lab 101 (LA) and Start Soma (SF), among many others. This year, he curated and participated in The Shift Exhibition at the Supreme Trading N8 Gallery in Brooklyn. He is currently featured in a solo exterior/interior art installation�In Situ: Matzu-MTP�in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Scion Exposed NY Set For Summer Bash
Scion car show, live music, Team Zoo York highlights day of fun at Giants Stadium

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey � The grounds of Giants Stadium will be transformed from tailgate central for NY Giants football fans to a summer playground for Scion owners, their families and friends, and the general public on Saturday, July 23. For one day, Giants Stadium is hosting thousands of attendees from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for the NY/ NJ / CT tri-state area version of the annual Scion Exposed summer bash, a one-day event designed to celebrate summer and all things Scion.

Scion Exposed NY will be highlighted by a large Scion-only car show featuring a judged and awarded competition. Not surprisingly, as owners of some of the most customizable cars available today, Scion owners are among the most enthusiastic car show participants and the competition will offer a fun comparison of what Scion individuality. As well though, the day�s schedule will be filled by a special street ramp demo by the Zoo York pro skateboard team, gaming tournaments featuring a 7-year old Halo gaming champion, a live art demo by renowned graf-inspired artist Matzu MTP, live music from three up and coming bands, radio controlled car races, giveaways, manufacturer displays and more.

Besides skating demos, the Zoo York crew will be dishing out Zoo York freebies and displaying a Zoo York-graphic designed Scion xB. As well, Scion owners and their friends will each receive a special Zoo York Scion Exposed NY event T-shirt while supplies last. Two Halo gaming tournaments will feature up to 12 competitors looking for video game supremacy and a shot at cash and prizes. Gamers not interested in competition will have access to 12 free play machines loaded up with popular driving simulators. Area bands Sun of NY, Tsar, and Brian Steen will be performing live on the Scion stage while DJ-mixed music in between sets will keep the air charged with energy. Manufacturer displays will include aftermarket performance companies such as Konig Wheels, Genesis Performance, and GT-Spec, who are also contributing to a prize giveaway. The giant prize giveaway will also feature products from Scion, Toyota Racing Development, Motegi Wheels, AEM, and Jada Toys.

Pioneer 5 Axis Scion tC to attend Scion Exposed NY

The green monster, the Scion tC that stole the show at the SEMA Show 2004 will be making its first area stop at the Scion Exposed NY event. With a wide flares, an aggressive grille, turbocharged power, custom one-off wheels, and a 43” Pioneer plasma TV tucked away (with hydraulic motors that raise and lower the screen and trunk lid) into its trunk – this tC has the best of the show and go worlds. Update #4 - 7.21.05 - Here's a small update on the gaming tournament and a word from our host.

MLG to Hold Mini-Tournaments at Giants Stadium, NJ this Saturday

This Saturday, July 23, MLG will be hosting two Halo 2 mini-tournaments at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ as part of the Scion Exposed Summer Bash. There will be 12 Halo 2 stations available for tournament play and 12 additional stations for free-play on Gran Turismo 4 and Need for Speed.

There will be $1,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs between the two sessions of Halo 2 tournament play. The first session will begin at 12:30 p.m., with the other following at 2:30. Lil Poison, the 7 year-old Halo phenom, will also be on hand to wound the pride of competitors in the 1v1 “Beat Lil Poison Challenge.” Seriously, if you’ve never seen this kid in action, you owe it to yourself to come and find out what all the fuss is about as he takes on any and all challengers (including you!). MLG will be overseeing all of the Halo 2 activity, so you can rest assured that the tournaments will be conducted with the same level of professionalism you have come to expect from all of our events.

The Scion Exposed Summer Bash is a one-day celebration of current lifestyle trends and all things Scion. In addition to the MLG festivities, there will be a large Scion-only custom car show, a street ramp demo put on by the Zoo York pro skateboard team, live bands and DJs, a live graffiti-inspired art demo, radio controlled car races, giveaways, manufacturer displays and more.

The Halo 2 tournaments will be 2v2 and will include the following MLG Team Slayer gametypes:

Midship – Human Weapons
Lockout – Normal ( BR start, no sword allowed)

1. All Settings listed below are those that are not default for Slayer.
2. 50 Kills to Win

8. Use of the sword is prohibited for the FFA and will result in disqualification.

The Scion event of the summer is almost here! Scion Exposed NY (Saturday, July 23, 2005) is just days away!

The weather forecast for East Rutherford, NJ this Saturday is looking great (85 and sunny, as of today The Weather Channel) and our lineup of entertainment and features is packed and growing!

Besides the huge Scion By You (Scion only) car show, Zoo York Pro Skateboard Team demo, live music from rap and rock artists - Sun NY, Tsar, and Brian Steen, Matzu-MTP live artist paint, Halo 2 gaming tournament, R/C car races, and Swag Sessions (giveaways!), we’ve just added the DK Bikes BMX demo team!

Also, car show participants will be happy to know that we have added a Best In Car Entertainment (I.C.E.) specialty award for those of us who spend as much time on the interior mods as much as the exterior mods. That means another trophy and $300 in prizes in addition to the 31 trophies and $3,100 already available in for our 9 category, 4 specialty award, and 1 Best of Show winners.

Also, look for special project Scions – including the East Coast debut of the Pioneer Scion tC (with the built-in motorized 42 inch plasma screen).
Once again, food and drink will be available at low cost (like last year, subsidized by Scion – yeah!).
