just wondering if people with like 19" wheels in the back and 18" wheels in the front have to buy tires more often. i mean i don't think they can rotate them back to front and front to back, only side to side so does that mean that they need to buy tires more often than if all four wheels are the same size?

Sort of yes and sort of no. Supras come stock with 255/40/ZR17s on 9.5" rims in the back and 235/45/ZR17s on 8" rims in the front. Because they are rear drive, they tend to wear out rears faster than fronts, typically three sets of rears to two sets of fronts.

Swapping them from side to side is OK as long as you maintain the correct rotation, but if your alignment is good, the tires wear pretty evenly across, so there's not much reason to do anything but keep them properly inflated and replace them when they wear out.
