to get them to lock when I put the car in gear? I have experienced this in some vehicles and would like to get mine to do the same if possible.

Any stereo shop should be able to do that with an aftermarket alarm.
But we don't want an aftermarket alarm. I would however consider wiring in a relay or something like that.
OK, I'm retarded when it comes to mechanical things. I wouldn't know how to do this. Is it easy, has anyone done it? Would it be expensive to get someone to do it. I thought there might be a trick to get it to work like turn the key to ACC and get out and do puieroettes (sp?) around the car get back in only sit backwards in the seat and say the alphabet backwards while humming rig around the rosies then lock and unlock the dorrs and wha la, there you have it.

Yeah, that is a typo in the manual. That procedure doesn't work to automatically lock the doors.
Not to sound like a smartass here, but when you put the car in gear reach down with your left hand and hit the Lock button. Does the same thing, and it's free!
My left hand is always on the steering wheel.

Ditto, and I am one LAZY MFer....

Just thought that it was a nice feature.

I already use the auto locks and I'll continue to do so, I just thought there might be a little trick. Not going to pay to have that done or even do it myself, just curious.
