OK here is my scenario... as some of you may know my subs pop because supposedly I have a bad ground. But my problem is even with the stereo turned off, when I turn off the car the subs still pop. The amp is not on or anything and my susb still pop.

Does anyone know what is going on. And also, does anyone know of a better place besides the seat bolt or the strut bolt to ground my subs to? I have found that if I hold the ground wire to the chassis of the car it does not pop but I can't seem to think that if I were to drill a hole in the chassis how would I be able to screw something down in there to hold the ground wire in place.

Thanks for all your comments and help....Matt

I used to have the same problem. You can easily fix this problem by using a ground-loop isolator, but some peopel will tell you that this is just a band-aid fix. The best way to fix it is to reground.

Now...grounding to the chassis is the recommended way to ground. you should sand a tiny circle of paint if any on it then get one of those loop connector deals and drill your hole. Use a tooth washer on both sides of the bolt you put in there and that will give you a better ground connection.

THis is the best way to fix this as far I know but there are other people more knowledgable than me.

actually the seat bolt worked great just got a different amp and some new and better RCAs and the popping went away no more worries.
