Surprisingly the 'tC' badge came off with no residue behind but the dealership but their sticker on and that was a b!tch to take off. I did use Goo Gone and it came off but I also used a sponge to get the rest of the residue off. Then I washed/waxed the 'sore' area.

This I believe was written by zoltiz:
Debadging the "tC":

1. Select a nice hot day, park in the sun, let the area around the emblem get as
warm as possible (or use a hairdryer)

2. Pry the emblem off with your fingers (try to leave as much adhesive on the
emblem as possible).

2.1 If simple "prying" does not work - use floss to "saw" through the adhesive.

3. Clean up the mess: try to remove as much lefover adhesive as possible with
your fingers, the rest comes off with any adhesive remover. I like the DucTape
brand adhesive remover - it smells like oranges

edit: 4. Wax the sore area.

no trust me man you want to do it, it gives a clean look to the trunk area and makes it look better...I did it a while back and I don't regret one single car ride. I love how yours looks and good job getting it done...I love how it looks.

how long it takes you to finish it?
From taking off the 'tC' badge and the 'Germain Toyota of Sarasota' dealer sticker to washing/spraying on Goo Gone and waxing the sore area twice. Probably about 15-20 minutes.
