Parking . . .

I love how where ever I go, I go out of my way to park far enough away from people to be left alone, but not so far as to attract any negative attention. I do this mainly because as we all know, our tC's dont have door guards, and all it would take is one idiot to quickly open their huge disgusting door to their SUV (or car for that matter.. sorry, but i'm an suv hatter), and bam.. hundreds if not pushing a thousand dollars to fix. Anyway, before I get off-topic with my rant here, I REALLY hate how I go out of my way to be alone in my own little space in a parking lot, parking BETWEEN the designated lines (yeah, i think it's bloody fuc|<ing arrogant to take up multiple spaces when parking, because you're not only telling the world you're too good to just use one, but you're telling the world to go piss off.) Reguardless, I take up my one and only space between happy yellow line #1 & #2, and yet SOMEONE always manages to park RIGHT NEXT TO ME. WHy?!1 I'm getting SO tired of it. Today while raping & pilaging blockbuster for their new release titles, this happened to me 3/5 times I was there today. (yeah, I'm a movie nut, heh).. Can't these people find another space to go park their happy a$$es in? Ugh. It's like they think I'm not good enough to have my own space or something, I duno.

Btw, they were an oldsmobile pos (2 kids sitting in it when I came back out), an 02 celica gt, and a white minivan. Bleh, whatever.. Just gets annoying.

A parking space is a parking space. when a normal person needs to park their car, they park in a parking space, no matter where, as long as there is one. Having a tC doesn't mean we get special parking priveleges.....hehe, unless you also have a handicap placard.

Unless their tires are on the yellow line or parked very close to you eventhough there are a lot of space on the other side, otheriwse it's not a reason to get pissed off.
I know what you mean, it seems you go an extra mile outta your way to park far and alone where you think no one will park(because you have to hike back to the store) and come time to leave you hike back to you car to find somone has parked there suburban next to you

Its frustrating I know, but I don't let it upset me, instead I walk the entire outside of the car looking for dings/dents/scratches/etc. while the other car/truck is still there so I can file a report if I find anything

Wow, you must really like movies... thats amazing.
Haha dude, I feel you, I park a couple spaces away so that there are 2 empty spaces on both sides of the tC and yet someone HAS to park next to mine. Oye.
i know what you guys mean, i work out at the mall so i always try to park the 3 football fields away from everyone. i always park next to the curb and get as close to it as possible that way only one person can park next to you and you still have about 2 feet of space in your spot on that side they park on.
I think that it's natural instict to want to park next to other people. You feel more secure about your vehicle if it isn't all alone.
Yeah, before I got my tC I used to always park next to people with my old truck... now I like parking far away all by myself.
LOL I know what you mean. Bloody door-flinging dingbats. I have dents that I look at and i'm like, how the hell?

That's exactly what I do too. It just annoys me to no end that people find the need to park next to me. When I see really nice, or exotic cars, I leave them alone! Or maybe I park like 2 spaces away. Close enough to show them I'm thinking on the same page as they are, but far enough away to respect what we're both trying to do.

And yes, I love my movies. I *watch quite a few.
I try to park next to nicer cars thinking that they probably take care of their car so maybe they'll take care of mine too. Also, if you park next to someone then you have a chance that you'll leave before they do. Park next to no one then there's a chance that the person will come and go before you do, therefore opening doors 2 times compared to possibly none. Seems to work since I rarely get a door ding. When I do then there's dentbusters.

I try to park my cars, old or new, as far away from other people, mostly at the end so that only 1 car can park next to it. This seems to work well.

However, on my Avalon, I had some bad lucks !!!

One time at a local supermarket, I parked it at the end of the row as usual. This row, however, happened to be the row where they store shopping cart. That day, I went inside to get something quick so my wife was in the car.

I did not go in for long when I got a phone call from my wife saying that some old guy pushed a shopping cart into my car !!! I ran outside and my wife was upset and pointed to this "old" man sitting inside his car in an adjacent row. I did not approach but I could see he was rather "scared".

My wife told me that she saw from the mirror that the guy "tried" to push the cart from his row into the space where they store the shopping carts. But because of the slope, the cart did not go into the storage space and headed toward my car instead !!! It ran into the rear fender and caused a slight dent. Lucky it did not run into the door which would probably be softer !!!

I stared at the guy for a long time and felt bad for him since he was rather old and from the looked on his face he was scard, so, I did not approach and left things alone.

One lesson I learned is that I will not park in the same row as where they store shopping carts !!!

The other one, on vacation, parked far away and came back and saw that someone keyed my car in all 4 corners !!! Not heavy keying but deep enough to be seen from up close !!!

Man, some people can be such ......

I don't give a crap what people think anymore. I park in two spaces and I'm happy about it. My wife's car came home with a dent that looked like someone shot a marble out of a cannon into her door.

Arrogant? naah. Sick of stupid people? Yup.

If these blind/stupid/lazy/whatever_you_wanna_call_em people are NOT going to pay attention to where they open their doors, I'm not going to give them an opportunity to open their doors into my car. I have no scratches, dents, or dings in my car (except for a few small rock chips up front). I don't plan to let people blindly damage my car anytime soon.

Oh, and if you have a problem with me taking up two spots.... You should have left earlier cause I dont care.
