Those brake rotors would look sweet even under stock wheels

I'm interesting in hearing/seeing that borla exhaust...it claims it's a catback...

That's what comes as an option here in the southeast...
The rotors and pads might be nice. Anything to help me stop would be good in my book!
Does a catback purr like a kitten or growl like a tiger?

Before you buy pads and rotors you might want to look at this thread:

an option? I thought the only optional exhaust was the axleback? I thought the axleback was a borla, but that nopi page says it's a catback...I mean, it's more then likely that it's mislabeled, I just figured NOPI might be a little more professional than that.
I've seen in more than one place that cat-back and axel-back mean the same thing on the tC, but I lack the knowledge to say whether that is true.
The TRD axle-back option is kind of the "default" option for exhaust. It's very possible that, in the south-east, the option is a borla cat-back. For some reason some options aren't available in certain regions of the country, or some extra options are available in other regions.

But if anyone has the borla system on their tC, I'd love to see some pics and hear some clips of it. Borla exhausts are awesome and I'd love to hear what they did to make the tC growl.
from my understanding the trd is the borla. they should sound the same.

i think that catback means an exhaust system where you have no catalytic converter. axelback is a performance exhaust that is called axelback just because it is a replacement exhaust system from the rear axel to the back of the car, hence the name "axelback."
"cat-back" means you replace everything "from the catalytic converter back". the factory cat. converter stays on generally. i would think that itd be an axle back muffler and a different tailpipe to go with it

In the Southeast, Toyota Dealers do not buy from the factory, they buy from Southeast Toyota Distributors. SET is an independent and privately owned distributor based in Deerfield Beach, Florida owned by Jim Moran (one of many automotive companies he owns) under the umbrella of "JM Family Enterprises". JM gets paid about $1000 for every car sold in FL, AL, GA, SC, NC. The distributor dictates a lot of what the dealers have to sell. This is one of the reasons people in the Southeast didn't get that $50 Gift Certificate others have, SET does not participate in that.
Jim Moran is the guy who went to Japan to teach Toyota how to sell cars to Americans and helped position Toyota as the most powerful in the US market (Japanese Companies) back in the 70's. He was the inventor of "Toyota Thon". In return for all that he has done for Toyota, he was rewarded with a distributorship that has been continually renewed to this day.
The urban legend about JM is that he is the son of the mobster "Bugsy Moran" who ran the Irish Mob in Chicago. He was killed by Al Capone in his rise to power. JM is old enough, has the same name and is from Chicago, but I think it ends there.
Sorry for the history lesson, but SET has made independent deals for add-ons for years. This explains why there are parts available through the dealers that are not elsewhere.

If anything, this history insight made me hate SET even more. Next time I will drive up to TN to get a Toyota, just to piss JM off and to make sure he does not get his $1000

Their Toyoguard, and ridiculous packages lost Toyota so many sales it's not even funny.

^^^ even though i'm not over there, i agree.

haha. SET is the place with their own "special edition tc" that looks like crap, especially the leather and the stitching, and is a total ripoff. maybe this guy should be called Jim MORON, and then go take a business class or 10.
That stitching on the headrest (if we're talking about the same thing) was retardedly bad.
...And yet, SET will sell every single one of those "Special Edition" tCs.
yeah Wolo, i was talking about the retardedly bad stitching.
what a mess.

and basilisk4, very true. they will sell them all like hotcakes, and it is sad that people actually buy them. but like i said before, if the people who buy them are stupid enough to do so, then they probably deserve what they get.
