Just like the one for the XB and XA TRD has come out with a heavy duty clutch for the tC http://www.trdusa.com/NewParts/lg_00602-31201-160.gif

Its basically a stiffer clutch that makes the shifts quicker...
so does that mean the clutch will be "heavier" or the catch point is more like accurate? sorry im still sorta confused >.< but i gotta learn some where =)
From my understanding yes, its stiffer which makes it catch better and quicker...
yeah, the "breaking point" of the clutch will be much more evident. it will be stiffer up to that point, and then should drop to the floor like mike tyson in the fourth round.
should take less pressure to hold it to the floor at stop lights and such as well.
so would you say its worth the like 500 dollars? keep in mind i dont really plan to race on the road or track, i just want a nice ride
Well since you don't plan on racing it won't benefit you unless its made really well... which you'll have to wait for a review by some people or a magazine. B/c its more for knocking down your times. You still might enjoy it though but if you want just a quicker shift go with the quickshifter.
Actually, a heavy duty clutch will not make your shifting any easier, in fact it may make it harder. The throw of the clutch (pushing the clutch to the floor) will be stiffer. The clutch will be able to handle harder launches and will not flutter on easy starts. Just a heavier clutch and pressure plate combo. Good for racing, but definitely not important for anyone just looking to "drive" their cars like normal people. And no, $500 is not bad for a clutch. I had an ACT 2600 clutch in my talon, it was over $700, plus $250 for the xact flywheel.
^^^ i was about to suggest moving it to tech - thanks for the link to the truth.

yeah, the price is pretty good. and if you drop your clutch as much as i do its a good idea. i am going to wait to install the clutch until i have clutch and quickshifter in my hands, then do them the same weekend. i figure since i am replacing the stock one with the TRD anyway, i may as well abuse the stock one for a while. then its supercharger time. hoping to get everything else done before the s/c hits. just have to see how much the wife will let me spend. whenever i bring up more mods, she usually makes this face...

Yeah... all you have to do is to buy her something as well when you splurge on your tC...

yeah, thats why i took her to napa and gave her the day at a spa. nothing like a swedish massage and a facial to warm your significant other up to the idea of you spending money on yourself.

IM sure this clutch is great but, will it handle a stage 2 turbo? lets say like 250 hp I know itll be a very drivable clutch but will it be bulletproof like other similar lest costly clutches ill just have to wait and see wut u guys tell me when u start getting them.
Nice. Now if TRD would come out with a header w/high-flow cat that wouldn't throw a CEL, that would be beautiful.
