Hi, I joined because I'm looking for a used car under $5000 and found a 2006 tc with 80,000 miles for $4900.

I've read about possible issues with these cars so I posted for opinions whether I should buy this car or not.

I need a car pretty quickly but don't want to buy one that has potential issues.

Buy the 2nd gen instead. No oil burner/piston ring worn out problem.

2010 & newer don't have this syndrome. I have to carry in the hatch 2 quarts of oil & a gallon of oil secured to the back seat. I have to check every 50 to 100 miles.
