need help: water/soap spots on windows

i washed my car yesterday night with Armor All Car Wash Concentrate. the sun had already gone down when i started washing it. when i was done, i put the car back in the garage. this morning when i saw my car, it had a bunch of water spots in many places, especially on the hood, trunk, and all of my glass. it wasn't too hard to get the spots off of the paint, but my windows have a bunch of water spots all over them that won't come off. i tried plain water, windex, and a special car glass cleaner to try and get the spots off the windows and none of that stuff did much of anything. i think the spots are a result of the soap because i tried scraping a few spots on the windows with my fingernail and stuff scaraped off but the outline of the spots still remained and i can still see them. is this a result of the soap (which i think is the case) or is it a result of hard water or something like that? either way, how do i get the spots off? they look horrible.

best bet is gonna be some very mild glass polish ! - t
I'd first try using a vinegar/water solution then move on to a polish or glaze if it doesn't work. I've had luck buffing glass with 3M PI III Machine Glaze. It kinda sounds to me like water spots since it doesn't come off with glass cleaner. Just a couple of additional thoughts:

1. Even if the sun is not hitting the car, if the car is still hot then water will dry too quickly.

2. If the spots are from the car soap then maybe you should wash and rinse the car in sections.

Hope this helps.
hey good advise Tchi........welcome to the forum!!!
I have used that exact same car wash liquid twice and had no such problem, so it's probably not the car wash liquid alone.

do you mean literally mix water with vinegar and use that on the windows, or is there a product that contains this stuff? thanks

Thanks Tcrazy. It's great to have a place to kick back, put up my feet, learn stuff, and hopefully help out a fellow tC owner.

I'd try a claybar.
