I definitely like the lighter shade of my IIP and I seriously can't tell a difference between the two silvers? Is it much more noticeable in person?
cant tell the difference between any colors except the blues from the silvers.. hehe
Those silvers really seem the same to me. If the IIP's the darker one in the last picture, then I like it a lot more than the NB. Thanks for the pics, Mori.
i think i can see it now... the original colors were more bold and colorful. the newer colors seem more bland, more plain and dull looking.
does this mean my IIP just went up in value? i drive the only one in my city

The silvers look exactly the same to me. One of the blues looks like it might be a tad darker than the other, but it might just be the angle or the lighting.
its ssm with a different name lol.

anyway, the blues you can tell the difference becuase one is darker than the other. isnt the NB the darker one?
the CSM and the NB are a little different. And I am glad to see a little change. I cannot wait to see FM on the xA and the Salsa Red on the x cars, as well.

i do not fear change. i think it is fun to see new and fun colors come into the scion line. the CSM and the NB will breed a new cult of TeaSea fans.
My personal guess for the color change, and mind you, this is a guess:

The colors are nearly identical, so they obviously didn't do it for purely cosmetic reasons. I know that my IIP will chip if you look at it sideways, so does anyone else think that the new colors may be a bit different in formulation... to maybe resist scratches/chips/swirls a little better? I know that one of the biggest complaints people make about the tC is the quality of the paint, and Scion is actually a company that seems to care about end-user input.

For reference, my wife's Lunar Mist Metallic '03 Corolla S has a few more paint chips than I do, we we bought it in May of '02-- and I'm catching up quick. Last car wash, as I washed a squished bee off of the front bumper of my IIP tC, what did I find? That bee must have been eating rocks, because it took a chip of paint right out of the bumper. The paint has to be mighty thin to be chipped by bees.

I think you're on to something Dr. As far as I can tell, all they did is change the names. Hopefully Isotope is right and they changed the formula to make it a bit more durable.
Doubtful on that. Toyota changes their color pallette regularly, I suspect this is just another color change for them. It would be nice to think it is an improvement, but I doubt it. FWIW, the problem with the paint is two fold: they have to meet environmental standards for VOCs in the paint, and there are no economical paints that meet the VOC standards and also meet the longevity expectations we have. Tree huggers are biting us again in the wallet.
