Can anyone recomend a shop other than my dealer to do work such as lowering springs? Central Indiana-ish area would be best, but also consider Chicago or Cincinatti area. Or is this a dealer thing or a DIY sort of project? As I am new at this, any advice would be helpful.

You can definitely do it yourself. It's not all that hard, really.

I would not recommend springs as a first DIY project, unless you do it with somebody who has experience. I've done 2 cars with people who had way more experience than I did before I felt comfortable doing it on my own.

^^^ I concur, I installed my springs myself but I did it with my boss who had a lot of experience with cars and his knowledge was a must. I feel much more comfortable now, however.
