dynamat = no help, my license plate still rattles. Is there anything else that i could possibly do to make it stop vibrating. Ive tried taping the back of the license plate to those 2 little foam things on the car near the bottom of the license plate.. but it just didnt stick.. Please respond.. thanks.

i put some self stick velcro (just the fuzzy side) onto the license plate itself and that helped quite a bit. it just keeps the plate from hitting anything solid enough to make noise.
on ebay they have a dynamat license plate kit.. if you already got that, my friend has 2 - 15's that run about a 1000 watts, way too much bass for me, but he had horrible license plate rattle, we dynamatted his entire trunk and it moved alot of rattle into the license plate..

we figured out it was vibrating in a lot of places on the license plate.. we used that sticky stuff called tack or whatever, the stuff you can use on walls and whatnot and stuck some in between the plates, i wouldnt put it on your paint though.. it worked really really well, so pin point were the vibration is first.
but anything sticky and thick you can jam in there will work.. (suggest the dynamat license plate kit though)
Sounds like a defect to me. You should contact a lawyer and see if you can get a free replacement for your tC, which is obviously a lemon.

here's the fix..

go to lowes or any home improvement place.. get yourself some VINYL (closed loop is good for outside applications) foam tape (weather stripping) and apply it to the backside of the license plate, but the bottom edge.. make sure that the license plate is pushing against car (through the foam tape)so that it doesn't move around.. you may have to bend your license plate a little.. but that does stop it

let me know how it goes..

edit: the foam tape i'm talking about has a self-adhesive side to it.. so you can stick it to the license plate..

I put dynamat xtreme on my license plate and the only rattle i hear is the whole hatch moving. The license plate has no sound. Did you put the dynamat in all the little creases of the plate? like in the letters and #'s?????
the hatch= a giant rattle. Theres no way to get rid of it.
i have a quick question before i go about doing this.. does anyone else not have screws in the two bottom holes of their license plate, because i didnt want to just drill two holes into my car... but i know for a fact that, that is the main reason why it is rattling.
for me, it was the bottom two coners hitting the car. all i did was stick folded paper towles behind the plate until the bottom of the plate didnt hit the car anymore. i know its ghetto but it works fine and is pretty much free. u dont even have to go anywhere cause u should already have paper towels.
^^^ i had the same problem, but i just put tape and that fixed it
