Just my overall Scion experience...

We are gathered here... all these hours... to worship the mighty tC....

I have to say that the whole Scion purchase process is amazing. At first I was captivated by this strange looking car on the street, then I was moved during a Scion dealer visit, now I have been sucked into this new Scion culture. Its nice to be surrounded by people just as crazy as me about this car. How crazy am I? I just ordered the 2006 tC, and I lend two of my best friends the down payments so we all have tCs. My baby should be in right before the 4th of July weekend, I'll post pics right away. I do have one fear. I fear that during intercourse I think about my car and get a case of premature ejaculation. But seriously, here's my dilemma:

I'm one of those guys that have to get everything at once or I wont get to do it at all. My dealer can order any accessory I want and bundle it into the financing. I honestly rather have one monthly payment. They can get me personalized leather, a cold air intake, any exhaust, and even allocate 2gs for whenever the supercharger comes out. I'm trying to keep the cost below 20gs, which brands do you guys recomend for the cold air/exhaust/leather/etc? I ordered the flint mica with airbags, and I'd like a deep engine/exhaust sound.

Welcome to the site and congrats on your decision to purchase a tC.
Welcome to the site! ...all that for under $20k will be impossible w/out some incredible deals

Yeah, I'd like to meet that dealer if you can walk out the door with all those assesories for under 20K. I walked out with ~19500ish with almost bone stock and the second to best finance rate.
Yay Oliver where in Chicago did you buy your tc for that kind of money. I got mine stock for $18k OTD and i got $200 off cuz i got my friend to buy a tC from the same guy i got my tc.

Thanks guys. Well, he's giving me $200 because my friends are getting one too. $400 because I'm a recent college grad. I'm trading in an 05 Type S Corolla for $13K. (I'll be breaking even considering the payments i've already made) and I should be getting back about $1500 once I cancel the Corolla's extended warraty and stupid GAAP insurance. Dont fall for those dealer tricks my friends, it happens to first time non-Scion buyers all the time.

Here's the price breakdown:

CAI= ~400
Exhaust= 525
Custom Leather= 1200
Airbags= 650
SC= 2000 (i'll pay the diff of actual price cash)

Total= 4775 + 16715= 21490

21490-400-200-1500=$19,390 of course this does not include taxes and loan interest but i want the cost of the car to be under 20k. Still beats the hell out of cars in its class. What do you guys think? Does it sound too good to be true?

umm...actually, the car starts at 16,500 without tax, where are you getting the 19,000 from? I'm in NY and our tax rates are pretty high, and my stock tC cost 18000 WITH tax and floor mats. I'd also suggest to get all of the acessories online and install them yourself. You'll save, literally between 30-50% from the dealer ripoff price. Check out some accessories at www.trdsparks.com, Ken is a site sponsor and is a pleasure to deal with. A whole bunch of us bought stuff from him and have nothing but the best to say about his service. Definitely look into that, you'll get much more bang for the buck. I have to admit though that the price for leather isn't bad, my dealer quoted me $2250 for two-tone leather. The exhaust is a really easy install, takes less than 1/2 hour if it's what you wanna go for and is sooooo much cheaper online then at the dealer. There are other reputable sites that also sell tC stuff, so do your research before giving your dealership a nice profit.
The price for the 06 is $16,715 (a $200 increase from the 05). $19,390 is what I'm estimating with all the accessories minus what I'm getting back in "deals". My cost does not include tax or loan interest as I stated. But tax in Jersey is 6% so for the base price 16,715 x 1.06= $17,717.90. AND you're absolutely right, from a cost point basis, I'd have to be a moron to pay a dealer $525 for an exhaust and that doesnt include installation. I'll get it base with airbags, leather (two tone btw) and SC allocation and set aside $1500 for accessories. I just didnt want mess up warranty etc.

Uh you can do the mods yourself and save a bunch of money:

The CAI - about $280 and no cost installation DIY
Exhaust - about $380 TRD and no installation cost DIY or Magnaflow for about that much which sounds better IMO

SuperCharger can't get around and the leather

DO NOT GET THE SECUIRTY SYSTEM THOUGH

Gotcha, sounds like an awesome plan, dude. Good luck on your purchase, mang! Also, you will not void any warranty if you install the TRD products and accessories yourself as far as I know. Do you know what custom shop they're installing the leather at? Usually it's a 3rd party, so lemme know, I might be interested in doing leather down the line. I saw the tc at the dealership with 2tone black and silver leather, maaan it looked friggin sweet, but when the dealer told me it'd be $2K+, I didn't think it'd be worth it.

Well, I put 1000 down, but was upside-down on my focus (#&%@!) to the tune of 3500. So I actually financed ~23k. But for the tC itself, i got floor mats, lugs, and the 800$ extended warrantee. Those 3 things added to the 16550 or whatever the car started at with dealer/liscence/tax blah blah blah was 19500ish. *shrugs. I kinda look at it like this, when we're talking 20 thousand dollars... whats on or two more thousand?

I bought mine at Schaumburg Scion/Toyota. Salesguys name was Lane. Good guy, I'm sure if I had had cash in hand he would have rolled a red carpet out for me, but all in all, they're good guys, no pressure.

I'm not sure where the leather is coming from. Its def third party, katzkin nearby. The dealer is Morristown Toyota, very nice people. Louis is my contact. They also have this crazy guy Mike, he does custom boxes and ANYTHING custom for the car right at the dealership. He's going to change my odometer lights from amber to bright white. Dont know how much is going to cost but I hate those lights and I dont want to ruin a brand new car messing with led's. I'm def not getting the security system (got connects at best buy) but I will def do these upgrades myself. It'll be good car/man bonding time. BTW, I'm going for a nice sound for the car, what CAI/exhaust combo would you guys recommend. Keep in mind that I'll be adding the SC later and I dont want a extravagant loud flaming sound. Hey whostherussian, if i install a non trd product, will that void warranty? Get this, the dealer says I have an option of getting the AEM CAI, but I didnt have the balls to ask them where the heck are they going to get that from. They showed me an AEM installed on the XA or XB. I dunno what to make of it.
