This car alarm will be installed in about 2 weeks. I paid $400 total including the install at Best buy. The alarm includes: keyless entry, long range 2-way remote, sensors on the doors, hatch, and hood, typical dual stage shock sensor, and a glass break sensor.
What do you guys think of the alarm and the price paid?
I really didn't have many choices without driving all the way to Chicago.

Not sure what the XVR is, do you mean just XV? If so, it sounds about right. I've got a 771XV which is similar to yours but includes a different remote, no glass breakage sensor, and remote start. I paid $550 installed.

They have a bit more information than the 'owners manual' provided when you get your alarm installed.

Also, you might ask them to use a mercury switch instead of a standard pin switch for the hood, they won't rust out or stick over time.
