I've been skiing once...last year. It was fun, and I was surprised how well I stayed on my feet. Ironically, I skiied all day without injury...and then broke my wrist rollerblading about 2 weeks later. =P
I definitely lacked the balls to try a black diamond slope. I found the "easy" ones and the one "moderate" one I tried quite challenging (and fun) enough...
I went skiing in NC in March, and it was very icy and there were patches of bare mountainside in a few places...I hit one of those patches and took a nice fall, but nothing too bad.
cad, maybe you should consider getting prescription goggles or contacts before the next time you go skiing...?
Also, I dunno if anyone else here has done any rollerblading, but I will say that there are some major similarities in the movements required for rollerblading and skiing.
oh, one difference between wiping out: pavement is a lot harder than snow. Trust me and my recently broken wrist (which took about 7 months to heal to the point of not having daily pain) on that one.
