hi, ive been avoiding 5th gear for a couple days now until the dealer checks out the twitching in my shifter. so basically ive been driving on the freeway in 4th gear only and the RPM's usually stay around 4k. is there anything bad about cruising on the freeway in 4th besides wasting gas? will it hurt the car, especially during the break in period?

well, look at it this way. I drive in 5th at around 80mph at around 3500. there really shouldn't be a problem driving a little higher than that. I would say not to worry about it and drive how you drive. UNLESS you service advisor told you to differently.

Why not drive it in 5th? You have a complete powertrain warranty. If something goes wrong, they're going to give you a new gearbox.
