I just installed the INJEN CAI last night and all I can say is ... OH MY F*CKING GOD! What a differnce especially in 2nd and 3rd gear in the 4500 to 5500 RPM Range. The sound is incredible. I waited almost a year for the damn AEM that will never come out. I am telling you, this is one of the best bang for the buck MODS available. I paid $230. plus $17.00 shipping and insurance off of Ebay. I got it from California in about 3 days. I decided to have it installed as a short ram after talking to a Toyota master tech and the problems he's seen with installing the full unit up front. He's seen customers who have installed the full unit having engines bogged down with water making the engine stall. I don't need that with the rain we get in Chicago. When I take my ride to Black Hawk Farms Raceway, I'll install the full unit.

as a short ram the low end response was much better[/b]
Um no, its actually worse.

Bypass valves and socks will hurt your performance even more.

why spend 300 dollars to risk your car's life?

Spend 60 bucks to make your own

out of less heat retaining material

I'm not even done with it ..its going to total about 120ish.. I still am waiting for my filter, and I have to run an airduct from the air box through the fender to the false grill for outter cool air. The line runs from the throttle body to the airbox. The sound is a bit louder and the loved whistle is waay louder. (like a BoV) 60 dollars was the price for just the line.

I guess you could say this is a cool air intake. It is going to be sucking cool air from outside of the engine compartment. It has less heatsoak than aftermarket Brand Intakes. The pleasure of doing this intake 100% my self wins over spending 300 dolalrs on an aftermakret intake that has the potential to kill my engine. It's pure satisfaction! If you want more info, look up "GFI" Dr Isotope came up with it.
GFI = custom BLING BLING!

Today I drove with my airbox half opened because I did not close it properly. The engine sounded weird and the throttle response was horrible. I was reving at 3k rpms and going really slow in every gear.. Good thing I looke dunder the hood and discovered the problem. I did drive over a rocky road so hopefully no rocks where flung up into my box :-( I doubt it though..it runs fine now. Just my whistle seems quieter. Oh wait my radio was on..DOh.
