HOw long is it safe to rev the 2az-fe? I was curious if the tC can safely hold like 4,500 rpm's. Can anybody tell me really how rev happy the tC really is.

i don't understand your question. do you mean how long you can hold the rpms at there, or how high can it go without destroying a valve
He means how long can he hold it there, i assume. The rev limiter will keep the engine from destroying itself in the short term.

4,500 can be sustained indefinitely. You could run multiple tanks of gas at full load and 4500 rpm and still not "damage" the engine. The only downside is your rings will wear out faster than if you run at a lower rpm. When rpm goes up, ring service life goes down, simple physics, and unavoidable.
certainly wouldnt call it "Rev Happy" as it redlines at 6200RPM but 4500 shouldnt be a big problem for big lengths of time
Thanks for answering my question low. And when I say rev happy I mean that the engine can be reved alot without vibrating much even tought it has a little displacment.
I guess im still getting over the fact that modern engines are more durable than the cars I was driven around in as a kid. If you reved my parents 427 corvette block for more than a few minutes it was over heatin. And if you did that in the summer, well lets just say you wern't going very far. Im talkin about a car that my dad wiped with a diaper and constently kept maintained. I guess engines just weren't that good in the 70's.
A lot of things weren't that good in the 70's. I remember it well.
When was the 70's?
When dirt was only a few days old.
Earth must have still been cooling back then.
Damn, man you're making *me* feel old.
This is back when that car made around 425 hp. But you were lucky to get more than 230 to the ground if you didn't melt the tires first.

He sold it in 1998, He now drives a 2003 Z06. Problem is he's retired and doesn't really drive it.
Unfortunate that he does not drive it. have you seen the brand new Z06? that thing is a beast.
Yeah I got to test drive that beast on a short track. It was a blast.+
<---- Jealous.
When my dad first got his Z06 he took me for a ride. Even though im sure it wasn't good for the new block he put it down on a stretch of HW80 and within seconds we were doing 150. I about pissed my pants that was like being on a rollercoaster.
Ever get to take it out on your own?
