Had to call Scion Corporate :-(

Purchased my '06 tC on November 21st from Landers Toyota in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Now, I just moved to this state in April and this is my first new car purchase and registration in the state. I am still driving on PA plates and drivers license.

Issue #1 - When signing papers, I financed in my taxes. In the state of Arkansas, they send out all of your paperwork and you drive without plates until the paperwork comes back. I believe you have 30 days. My paperwork came in the mail on December 15th and was supposed to include a check to cover the taxes that I financed. It is to be written to me and the state and I just turn it over when I register the vehicle. Well, I never got the check. I have called the dealership and spoke to my salesman and finance manager and can't get an answer or even a returned call. They are always blaming someone else. When they tell me they will call back, they don't. SO, I called Scion Corporate and spoke to somebody very interested in helping resolve the issue. I am supposed to receive a call back from them by EOD tomorrow.

Issue #2 - Again, I purchased my tC on November 21st and traded in a vehicle which the dealership gave me full trade in for. They called my bank to get a payoff good until December 10th. As of December 20th, I was still receiving late notices for missing payments. When I called the dealership the first 3 times, I was told, "It should have been paid, I'm not sure why your getting late notices". Finally, I got ahold of them again to find out what the deal was and they informed me that the payment was sent on December 14th. Today I received a letter from the bank that is was payed off.

Issue #3 - Once again, I purchased my tC on November 21st and was told my first payment would be due on January 5th and that I would get a statement in the mail. Well here it is January 4th and I have yet to get a statement. So I decide to not even bother with the dealership this time and called Toyota Financial. After they found me in their system, they read off my address to me. Somehow, the dealership gave them an address that isn't even remotely close to my actual address. They said it had been sent, corrected my address and gave me a nice grace period due to the error.

Don't really want to come across as venting, but I really wanted to share my experience with all of you. I hope Issue #1 is resolved tomorrow so I can stop driving around without plates and actually have a registered vehicle. My actual buying experience was way too easy at Landers, but I guess they make up for the hassle in the back end. I'll drive to Missouri to buy my new Rav 4 when I sell my Matrix.

Stay away from Landers! Got it!
Thanks krdshrk, I have convinced one!!
Heh. I'm nowhere near the area anyway. I'll pass the message along to my fellow ScioNRG Alabama teammates, though.

Edit... whoops... i'm dumb... Arkansas, not 'bama... NVM!
Same backwoods, I'm sure!
Scion Corporate never returned my call as they said they would. Guess I'll need to call again.
Sorry to hear about all your trouble. Hopefully everything will get worked out for you.

Make sure those late notices are cleared. They will put them on your credit reports and leave them there until you do something something about it. Nevermind the fact that they were sent in error...don't let that go.

I live right outside of the squealing area. I actually live in the town of the Walton's. Home to Wal-Mart Home Office.

We received a payoff letter from the bank. Looks like all is cleared. I will definitely double check though. Thanks for the suggestion!
Dealer called today, check was overnighted today. I should have it my EOD tomorrow. Hopefully thats the last of my dealership issues. It's funny how you can get such a great sales person and the finance person always ends up to be an a**hole!!

I had the exact opposite experience. Sales guy kinda sucked, finance guy was great.
I have yet to meet my finance person. My dealer called today. My tC *should* be here in the next couple of days. Hubby and I financed it together, and the bank won't accept a POA (hubby and I are both active duty, but hubby is home until Monday on leave and then he has to go back to the sand box:cry: ) so the dealer said we have to go in on Sunday and sign the papers together even if my tC isn't here yet, but he said not to worry if I don't like my car when it get's here, he will get me another....

Yeah right, like I'm not going to like the car I ordered!
I didn't have to deal with their financing. I got an outside loan.
