Anyone from California knows that it's state law to drill holes in the front bumper for the legally required front license plate. Do all of us put our front license plates on? Of course not, which leaves two nicely defined holes in the front bumper. My roomate ownes an S2000 and he went out and bought plugs for the holes in his front bumper. Does anyone know where I might be able to find these for my TC or if they even make them yet?

i'm set up a group buy in the group buy section for flint mica's cause they don't have our color and need at least 4 orders to add the precise factory matched color to their lineup. email the guy your car and color and he'll let you know if he has something that matches your color. they're kinda pricy at 25 bucks a pair but i think they're worth it.

you could always just try to make something yourself and use touch up paint over it.

Hmm, my Matrix got shipped from TX, with a nice set of someone's plates, so I ended up with 2 holes in the bumper. Went to autozone - bought license plate frame bolt covers ($2), then painted them with touch-up paint and had myself some good looking bumper plugs. Took about 15 minutes, including the drive to autozone.

I live in florida, nothing about front license plates being required (I don't think anyway). There should really be a "no front license plate" clause when I order it.

If I can tell them not to put one on and I find one on my car, I'm gonna punt some sonzabeeches.

HARD.

I just wanted to give you guys the head's up on the bumperplugs.com. I just bought some for my car. Well, I guess you can say, I did NOT realize how LARGE a hole you have to drill. Yes, I read the numbers, but still didn't think LARGE.

The holes you have to drill ARE 1/4" holes. And the top of the plug part, that you see, is about 1/2" in diamater, or a bit larger. To me, they are too big. I think I'm going to do what zoltiz did. Paint some screws or screw covers.

BTW, just taking off the plates, the holes are about 1/8". Can't even see them. But, obviously, they need to be fixed.

So, if anyone wants the BSP ones, I have a pair. I think I'm going ot check out their return policy though. Sorry, I hate to make LARGER holes in my car, and besides, I need to take them out if I ever get a ticket.

Oh, they're not screws. They're, oh what do you call those things. Where you pop them in, they have groves so you can't pop them back out...well, not easily.

Just thought I'd warn you. If you're willing to make larger holes, go for it.

yea, in CA you gotta put on the front license plate, especially if ur a minority. Ive been pulled over twice already for no licence plate. not only did they get me for the plate, but the cop decided to slap on a speeding ticket with it.

If you go to this link..above you will get the law on plate display for CA. If you are issued 2 plates, you need to have it attached to the front..as I read it. If you don't you can get in trouble. I think it sitting on the dash makes it hard to see..that is the idea for the front plate anyway..along with the revenue for both of them...easy for the police to see you from all directions too. I live in VA and our law is the same as well.

I'm pretty sure that's not the law anywhere.

I didn't have dents in my front bumper until a Ford Explorer decided to roll back on my car at a light, leaving a nice indentation of the screws of her license. Meh, you can barely see it and luckily, it was centered in my bumper as if it was supposed to be there. It just pisses me off how the light turned green as soon as it happened, and they sped off without even an apology.

I would of chased that person down and chuck something big at them!

But to the license plate question, like everybody said, buy some plugs or do it yourself and use touch up paint.

As for me, i decided to buy the Scion frame instead and put that on. Looks better in my opinion and won't get busted for no plates either. Plus my friend works for toyota so he hooked it up with a 20% discount. not bad

Oh they noticed...It was the first time I tried out my horn, and I tried it out good
. Meh, I got their license plate info, but figured the damage wasn't enough and would have just jacked up my insurance rate which is already fairly high since i'm under 21.

Good point - you can be at fault if you don't give the person enough "room" to accelerate at a light. Now if you were 3 feet behind 'em....that's another story.
