After a mess that became of my Matrix' hood after 24K miles last year I decided that $130 or so is not that much money...Originally posted by Wolo@Sep 16 2004, 02:46 PM
I'm thinking of getting one for longer trips like you do. I think that would definitely help save the paint.
Yeah what he said. Just be sure before you put it on that the car is clean, maybe spray it down with some quick detailer. The mask wont harm the paint it self, just all the dirt between the mask and the paint WILL!! If you leave it on I would take it off periodically to clean underneath it and keep a good coat of wax to reduce the chance of damage!!Originally posted by TCrazy@Sep 22 2004, 06:32 PM
the mask itself wont discolor the paint but whats under the mask is not subject to UV fading like the exposed paint is. Also, leather masks tend to get dirt etc trapped underneath them and can do some major damage to the front of a car over time. They can be useful for sporadic use on long trips but over time they will due just as much damage to the car if they are left on. - t
