Will the front end mask, discolor the paint underneath. I am especially worried about oxidation of the Clear coat.

If you leave it on for a long long long time. And then still periodic waxing might help.

I have a full front end mask and I use it for trips over 100 miles. I think it helps - I have 2700 miles on the car and no paint chips.

The only thing it can do to clarcoat is scratch it.
I'm thinking of getting one for longer trips like you do. I think that would definitely help save the paint.

After a mess that became of my Matrix' hood after 24K miles last year I decided that $130 or so is not that much money...
I'm also thinking about getting one now... since I plan on driving my tC to Vegas next March for my wedding...

lol. 100 mile trips would just cover my commute. Thanks, I'm going to add that to the list.
Zoltiz, does the mask fit nice and snug? Is it well-padded? How quickly can you put it on/take it off?

Thanks in advance.
It looks nice, has soft fluffy padding, fits very tight and snug, maybe even too tight, but I guess it's necessary if you don't want it flapping around at 90mph...

Takes me about 5-7 minutes to put it on and 2 minutes to take it off. I guess with more practice I can do it faster - I only put it on twice.
Hey guys, I was just wondering if the front end mask would fit if say the car had the body kit installed? I asked scion directly they said yeah. But I'm just wondering if anyone here actually did it.

Thanks!

I'm only asking this becuase its possible I may head up to Portland next wed!!! and I gotta take the I-5 all the way from LA.

Thanks again if you guys can answer this.

The fit of the mask is very tight even without the ground effects - so I don't really know how are they proposing to make the mask fit overa front bumper "extension"...

My guess would be - it does not fit.

LOL ...shows how much I know about the bra w/out having seen it

so, I'd probably believe them, buy it, and have to return it when it doesn't fit

True... if the ppl who are selling it to you claim that it does fit over the ground effects kit... then buy it (if its refundable... ask) and return it if it doesnt quite fit.
the mask itself wont discolor the paint but whats under the mask is not subject to UV fading like the exposed paint is. Also, leather masks tend to get dirt etc trapped underneath them and can do some major damage to the front of a car over time. They can be useful for sporadic use on long trips but over time they will due just as much damage to the car if they are left on. - t

Yeah what he said. Just be sure before you put it on that the car is clean, maybe spray it down with some quick detailer. The mask wont harm the paint it self, just all the dirt between the mask and the paint WILL!! If you leave it on I would take it off periodically to clean underneath it and keep a good coat of wax to reduce the chance of damage!!

Yeah... leave it to the shopper in me to find us some great deals!! I've noticed that they are selling stuff cheaper than even McGeorges. If they don't have it, you can email them and ask them if they can get it for you, like this front end mask.
I recommend ppl try them out. Their store is on ebay.

I've seen their auctions before...seem very reasonable.
