Farewell tC, it's been good knowing you

on Tuesday Dec 6th, I was driving home from work at 9:30pm when I was cut off by another car on the highway... no big deal usually, however, this happened right as i was about to drive over black ice. I don't remeber much else at this point. I do know that i hit a guardrail at highway speeds, went airborne, and flipped over a number of times. i was told by parmedics that i would have been dead had i not been wearing my seatbelt. i suffered a fractured shoulder, a broken arm, a fractured wrist, a smashed finger and thumb, a severe concusion, a deep puncture wound to my chest, and road rash all over my face and head. They actually released me from the hospital last night, with the exception that i go back for a few surgeries (they felt i'd be more comfortable at home). Looks like i won't be at work for quite a while... thank god i have disability insurance!!! anyway, my family might be going to see my car this weekend at the salvage yard to collect some belongings. they'll take some pics and I'll post them here so you all can see my ordeal.

yea, no joke... same thing has happened to my cousin in his tacoma, flipped about 4 or 5 times while flying over 25 feet from the road to where he landed, hitting a tree (the reason they know he was airborne was that the snow wasnt disturbed btwn the edge of the road and where his truck landed). once he was concious and able to move, he was taller than his truck when they stood it on its nose to get it towed away...

black ice is teh suck
Sorry to hear about the accident but glad you're ok.
Holy crap man... good thing your safe. Material goods can be replaced, human lives can't.

^ Definitely!

I'm really sorry to hear it, man. You've been a great member for quite some time, and I hope you'll continue to post here. I hope you feel better, man, and I'm happy to hear the tC kept you alive.
Best of luck with your recovery. Glad to hear you're still alive.

Well... Ok it was fairly serious, but we haven't heard of anybody dying from an accident in a tC
wow, crazy accident. sorry to hear about your car and all.. but definitly glad to see you're doing okay. i guess this car DOES hold up. there have been a few accidents in the tC, the most serious i've heard of is your and that one in texas i believe it was, good to know that it's built tough. hope your surgeries go well and that you recover quickly man!
sorry about your accident. i think your accident was the worst ive read from all the threads that were posted here. i still cant imagine how the tc held up roliing w/ pretty much glass roof. just shows how good the tc was built.

i wonder if its because dead tc owners don't come back to post? i guess their family/friends might come on here to post. a bit macabre, sorry.

anyways hope u feel bettah soon!
A good portion of Scion owners are Gen-Y'ers like us. We tend to group together like this or get online and pass each other the news. If there was a fatality in a tC, someone would probably see/hear about it and inform us.
