It popped up again right at 5,000 miles.

Prior about two weeks ago when I was on vacation in California my dad was driving my vehicle and it came on.



I hate having to take it to the dealer and wasting an hour or 2 just to be told it was some glitch. What do you guys think?

A search is a beautiful thing

. You probably need an oil change, or if you've already gotten one, then they forgot to reset it for you. It's not really a glitch, as it's supposed to go off at certain mileage intervals. Here's how to reset it:

select odometer while the car is on.
turn off the car.
while the car is off push and hold the trip meter reset knob and while holding turn on the car.
this should reset that maint reqd light.

I just went back to our lube techs and asked them what to do and that is what they told me. give it a try and see if you can save yourself a trip to the dealership.

to reset the light.

turn the car on and make sure teh display is on ODO
turn the car off
push and hold the ODO reset button, while holding the button turn the car on.
the display will show 5 dashes, then four, then three.... ect.
when the ODO shows your milage let go of the button.

done.

get your oil changed.

maybe its the gas tank lid not being tight enough?
